Match Report | Holywood Ladies vs Draperstown

Holywood Ladies travelled to Cahore Road to take on Draperstown in their final match of the season.

The girls played some great football throughout the first half, creating a number of opportunities but unfortunately just couldn’t find the back of the net. The score remained level until just a few minutes before the half-time whistle, when Draperstown took a 1–0 lead.

Into the second half, some substitutions were made and the ladies continued to play some excellent football, battling hard and creating chances. Unfortunately, Draperstown doubled their lead from the penalty spot to make it 2–0.

And with that, that’s a wrap on the season! 💚⚽

Match Report | Holywood Ladies vs Welly Rec

Holywood Ladies started the match brightly, playing some excellent football and creating plenty of chances. Their strong start was rewarded after 25 minutes when they found the breakthrough to take a deserved 1-0 lead.

Welly Rec responded before the break with a fortunate equaliser, as the ball bounced around the box before unfortunately ending up in the back of the net.

Half-time: 1-1

The ladies came out for the second half refreshed after a positive team talk and continued to play some great football. They worked hard as a team, moved the ball well, and created several opportunities, but just couldn’t find the finishing touch.

Welly Rec went on to score what proved to be the winning goal despite Holywood Ladies continuing to battle until the final whistle.

It was an entertaining match with plenty of chances for both sides. Although the result didn’t go their way, the ladies can take plenty of positives from a hardworking team performance and will look forward to the last game of the season tomorrow away to Draperstown.

⚽ HOLYWOOD LADIES WIN 4–3! 💪🔥

Holywood Ladies took on Draperstown in a thrilling seven-goal encounter, coming out on top with a fantastic 4–3 victory!

Draperstown got off to a quick start, scoring early in the first half. Holywood created plenty of chances but just couldn’t find the target, leaving Draperstown 1–0 ahead at half-time.

After regrouping at the break, Holywood came out fighting in the second half. An early equaliser settled the nerves and sparked an exciting afternoon of football, with goals coming thick and fast at both ends.

It was a real rollercoaster, but Holywood showed great character and determination to secure a 4–3 win. 👏⚽

What a comeback! What a game!💚

Laura stepped into goals and did a fantastic job, keeping the girls organised and steady from the back. A brilliant team effort and a huge thank you to Laura for stepping up when the team needed her! 💪⚽️

FULL TIME | Portadown Ladies 3-0 Holywood Ladies

Holywood Ladies made the trip to Portadown this evening to take on top of the league Portadown Ladies.

The girls started brightly and created a couple of early chances but couldn’t make them count. Portadown capitalised on their opportunities and took the lead before adding two more before the break.

After a positive team talk and two early second-half changes, the girls came out with renewed energy. They created plenty of chances and defended brilliantly throughout the second half, but despite their efforts, they couldn’t find a way onto the scoresheet.

A massive shoutout goes to Kasper in goal, who produced a stellar performance between the sticks. Stepping in from her usual role at left-back, she pulled off several outstanding saves and kept the team’s spirits high right until the final whistle.
