Today we couldn’t separate them… Jessica D & Kadie G take our Player of the Match honours.

And WHAT performances from these two.

Jessica quite simply played her absolute socks off. Rock solid in defence, brilliant on the ball, strong when holding players off and constantly looking for the next pass.

And then there are those throw-ins… She can launch them when needed, but what impressed just as much today was her ability to spot the shorter option and keep us playing football. What a game, Jess.

Alongside her, Kadie just DID. NOT. STOP.

Another huge defensive performance — great footwork, composed on the ball and a brilliant eye for reading where the danger was coming from. She battled, chased and worked from the first whistle to the last.

These two are a massive part of the strong Raiders defence we’ve become known for.

Raiders 4–1 FC Redwing

Our first Essex Girls County Cup game of the season… and our cup journey continues.

It was a competitive opening half with both teams playing some great football, but after 13 minutes the breakthrough came from an unlikely position.

Jessica M, having a go out on the wing, picked up the ball and drove forward. She looked up, spotted the players in the box… and apparently spotted the goal too.

Cross or shot, Jess? We’ll let you decide… either way, it found the back of the net.

HALF TIME | Raiders 1–0 FC Redwing

The second half started strongly with the ball going from end to end and both keepers being kept busy.

Seven minutes in, the goals started to flow. A lovely ball through from Blossom found Madie D, who calmly slotted home to make it 2–0.

Just four minutes later, Ava C battled hard to win the ball and found Blossom, who finished brilliantly to extend the lead.

3–0 Raiders.

With just over 10 minutes remaining, FC Redwing pulled one back — but the Raiders weren’t finished.

A bouncing ball found Blossom’s head, lifting it over the keeper and into the path of Emily, who finished the move to put the game beyond doubt.

The home kit keeps that bold East Thurrock look with the classic yellow and black, while the away kit gives us something completely different with a striking purple and white design.

What a way to introduce yourself to league football with the Raiders.

New to the team this season, Blossom was an absolute nightmare for the AFC Leyton defence today! Her pace, movement and attacking play caused problems throughout, topped off with TWO brilliant goals in our 2–2 draw. ⚽️⚽️

But it wasn’t just the goals — a fantastic all-round performance, loads of determination and a great contribution to the team.

A very well-deserved Player of the Match.

Raiders 2–2 AFC Leyton

Our Raiders were buzzing to finally get their A Division campaign underway today, and against a strong AFC Leyton side we were treated to a brilliant game of football.

The first half saw both teams playing some great football, with through balls, chances and some fantastic build-up play.

After 20 minutes, the breakthrough finally came. Madie D played a lovely ball through to Blossom, who calmly slotted it home for the Raiders’ first A Division goal.

And Blossom wasn’t finished there…

A perfectly executed free kick from Bailey Mc found Blossom inside the box, and she volleyed home her second of the game.

HALF TIME | Raiders 2–0 AFC Leyton

We knew the second half would bring a response, and Leyton came back out determined. They pulled one back before a free-kick decision that we might have seen a little differently 👀 gave them the opportunity to find an equaliser.

2–2. Game on.

But one thing these girls have shown time and time again is that they never give up. They kept working, kept battling and gave absolutely everything right until the final whistle.

FULL TIME | 2–2

Of course, after leading 2–0 there’ll be things to look back on and learn from — but this was our first ever A Division league game, against a strong side, and every single Raider gave 100%.

The new kits have been slightly delayed, so no team shots just yet… 📸 But we couldn’t wait any longer to introduce our 2026/27 squad.

A massive well done to every single player for the hard work, commitment and effort they’ve put in over the off-season and throughout pre-season.

Bailey Mc has once again proved herself and will retain the Captain’s armband for another season, leading the Raiders into our new challenge. 👏 👏
