Good form is good enough . If your chasing perfect form constantly in the gym while lifting you may find it hard to increase the load up in any meaningful way over time .

There’s an acceptable parameter with form , yes we don’t want to be outside of that but in the gym ‘perfect’ can actually be the curse of staying weak.

Don’t get me wrong 😑 form , mind muscle connection matter - but refusing to increase any load until form is absolutely perfect with extreme mind muscle connection can leave you weak long term.

In my online coaching that’s exactly part of what I do , video analysis of your lifts so I can tell you with an experienced eye if you form is in acceptable boundary and when to push forward . DM the word coaching to get started 💪🏼

Online Personal Trainer vs Personal Trainer Brighton – Which Is Better?
This is a question I’m being asked more and more.
Should you hire an online coach, or are you better off working with a personal trainer in Brighton face-to-face?
The honest answer is that it depends entirely on you.
I’ve worked as a personal trainer in Brighton for over 25 years, but I also coach clients online, so I’ve seen both approaches work extremely well.
The bigge of face-to-face personal training is technique.
If you’re new to lifting weights, nervous in the gym, or have previous injuries, having someone standing next to you correcting your form can dramatically improve your confidence and reduce the risk of injury. It also means I can adapt sessions instantly depending on how you’re moving and feeling that day.

Who can string this bow??
I’ll give it a go :)
100kg twister haven’t picked it up in years - tbh I can get 12 good reps out still - those who know know 💪🏼
Just started training with the 110kg again .

Recent official health guidance, including updates from the UK Chief Medical Officers, emphasizes that people taking GLP-1 weight-loss medications must include strength training in their routines. Doing so prevents dangerous muscle wastage and bone density loss that can happen when rapid weight loss occurs.

When you’re older (sorry) strength becomes even more important.
There’s no reason why if you haven’t been strength training you can’t be stronger in your 60’s than when you were in your 20’s.
I’ve had countless people I’ve coached where this is the case.
The pillars of strength remain the same - don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Pulls ups / chin ups should be foundational strength in every routine and there’s no reason you can’t get to do you first unassisted pull up in your 60’s even if you’ve never managed it before with the correct regressions and training.

Some nice sparring on the hill top again with . He’s coming along really well now - we probably are 70-80 hours deep into his training now .
It’s lovely to see him develop and start to develop inklings of his own taste in the jiujitsu game .

Teaching gives me so much , it’s so much more than the sum of its parts , it’s not just passing on knowledge that was given to me , it’s such a hard thing to quantify how important teaching in all forms is to me - from strength to jiujitsu to my terrible growing bald patch.

As we get older muscle loss happens at a faster rate - and it’s harder to get back .
You don’t need to to think about training more but you do need to be more consistent 💪🏼

A common question I get asked with new clients is how long is this gonna take ?
You need to actually ask a better question - how am I going to incorporate training and health into my life so I stick at it for life .
We all want results fast - but often it’s better to concentrate on the process rather than the outcome. If you’re consistent at building sustainable health and fitness protocols into your life all the other benefits will come.

Can you lose fat and gain muscle at the same time while in a calorific deficit ?
Yes it’s possible! However it is easier to do this when you have more fat to lose in the first place as your body has that reserve to draw upon.
