⚒️ Work in progress ⚒️
--------------------------------
Are you injured? Read below as to how I've put my knowledge and education into practice to fix one of the injuries I have succumbed to this year. Get in touch if you need some help!
----
The majority of this year has been spent working on injuries, unfortunately for me. The training loads over the last 2 years have been really high, and this has led to a couple of unfortunate injuries.
----
My strength in my right shoulder started to fade from around September 2024. This was coupled in a rise in irritation and pain in the right shoulder. By March 2025, I could no longer bench press weights that were previously comfortable for me.
----
I decided to dial my volume right back for upper body for a couple of months to reset, before getting back into training upper body again in may I took a video of my shoulder movement from the back to see if I could see anything obviously wrong.
----
To my surprise, my shoulder blade was massively protruding on my right side; where the pain was. This helped me better build my rehab program to address the issue, narrowing down what I was addressing significantly.
----
Within 5 months, there is a significant reduction in the winging. I am pain-free, and my pressing strength is almost back where it was 5 years ago when I was powerlifting! I have been able to load movements like the sn**ch again, which I previously had to stop due to instability causing pain overhead.
----
Couldn't be happier with how it's going, much more to come going forward 🙏🙌

Strength training: basics and advanced training 🏋♀️📈
----
Everyone needs strength training in some capacity, strength prolongs healthy living. When done correctly, strength training reduces common aches and pains; giving strength to joints in young and old age.
----
Strength training either isn't thought about with structure at all for a lot of people, I.e. turning up and doing whatever you feel like on that day.
Or is over thought, with novice trainers trying to run advanced methods like the conjugate system because of a video they've seen on YouTube. Whilst not understanding the system and not making any progress. (Novice trainers are people who have never trained with structure. You could have trained for 5 years, and this still applies to you)
----
There are many effective ways to periodize strength training (See the above slides). This should not be over thought, especially in people who have never followed structure before, a simple 12 week linear program WILL make you stronger for at least the first cycle if done correctly and with adequate hard training.
Remember the basics, train hard, eat well, do compound movements, and follow a plan.
----
If you have tried everything and still aren't seeing results, consult someone who will be able to better plan your training blocks for you. A good coach will analyse and evaluate what works and why, try it!
