Strength training: basics and advanced training 🏋♀️📈

Everyone needs strength training in some capacity, strength prolongs healthy living. When done correctly, strength training reduces common aches and pains; giving strength to joints in young and old age.

Strength training either isn't thought about with structure at all for a lot of people, I.e. turning up and doing whatever you feel like on that day.
Or is over thought, with novice trainers trying to run advanced methods like the conjugate system because of a video they've seen on YouTube. Whilst not understanding the system and not making any progress. (Novice trainers are people who have never trained with structure. You could have trained for 5 years, and this still applies to you)

There are many effective ways to periodize strength training (See the above slides). This should not be over thought, especially in people who have never followed structure before, a simple 12 week linear program WILL make you stronger for at least the first cycle if done correctly and with adequate hard training.
Remember the basics, train hard, eat well, do compound movements, and follow a plan.

If you have tried everything and still aren't seeing results, consult someone who will be able to better plan your training blocks for you. A good coach will analyse and evaluate what works and why, try it!
