Start making small changes to your current lifestyle and over time it will add up! |

It doesnt have to be anything complicated and you don't have to be perfect on day 1. But you should aim to be better than you were yesterday. |

A few examples are; |

1) Going for a daily walk. This can be anytime of the day that suits you. I go for a 3km walk around the local park every morning.|

2) Consuming an extra portion of fruit/veg. Cut back on unnecessary snacking (i.e. the 5 biscuits you had at work this afternoon). Opt for healthier alternatives. |

3) Getting to bed 15-20 minutes earlier, instead of scrolling through social media at night. Turn your phone OFF and wind down. |

4) Taking the time to prepare your meals for the next few days, instead of opting for convenience and getting a Greggs sausage roll on your lunch break. |

5) Getting to the gym! Start making those positive changes today. Find a time of day that suits you and stick to it. |

How Many Days Per Week Should You Train ? |

The amount of days that YOU can stick to for an extended period of time is what is going to get you to where you want to be in the LONG TERM. 👍|

Be realistic, a lot of people attempt 6-7 days a week for a few weeks before burning out and falling off the wagon. This is definitely something I've noticed in the past few weeks. |

If YOU had that short term burst of motivation in the new year and have stopped. Ask yourself, why? Try to find the REAL reason that you were in the gym in the first place and get back on track. 💪

Don't wait till April/May time to get back into shape for summer, take ACTION today. |

GETTING STARTED 💪|

I can appreciate that it is not always easy for people to get started with their fitness journey. You feel like you "aren't ready" and find yourself DELAYING it. |

"I'll start again on Monday". |

"I'll wait until the new year". |

You often compare yourself to others and get disheartened that you aren't where they are at. |

Monday morning Session with my client Linda. We have been working together for the past 5 weeks.

Linda's goal was to improve overall strength and increase her confidence in the weights room.

We have been working on gradually progressing each week and have been moving towards free weights on some exercises.

Do You Need Supplements?

I believe that EVERYONE should incorporate some form of progressive resistance training into their routines. 🏋‍♂️ |

There are a LOT of misconceptions that people have though which leads to them avoiding weights entirely. 👎 |

One of the most common ones is that people believe they are going to get "too big". |

Building a significant amount of muscle takes YEARS of dedicated hard training and applying the correct nutrition strategies in order to do. |

And even then, you are STILL limited by the amount of muscle your body is capable of building naturally. |

So don't worry, you are not going to turn into a monster overnight. Start with a few sessions per week and reap the benefits 💪 |

Are You Inconsistent?

A lot of people never really getting going with their fitness journey because they never stick to it for more than a few weeks at a time.

You get a short term burst of motivation (usually around New Year time, or the start of summer). But after a few weeks end up skipping workouts and ultimately, skipping the gym altogether.

Start off with 2 or 3 workouts a week to begin with (ideally 3) and get into the habit of consistently going to the gym. Once you have done this for a few months you are in a good position to add in extra days.

Do You Wing It? |

When I was new to the gym I had no real structure, I would just wander round from machine to machine doing a few sets here and there. |

There was no plan and no purpose. This left me feeling frustrated and demotivated 👎 |

It was not until I started to follow a structured plan that I started to see results 💪 |

Now it doesn't have to be anything complicated, just a simple plan with a FOCUS on progression on basic exercises. 🏋‍♂️ |
