The season may be over on the pitch… but there’s no off-season for the people behind the scenes! 🏏💚
While the last balls have been bowled, the work to get Denby Dale Cricket Club ready for next season is already underway.
From preparing the pitch and looking after the grounds, to maintaining the clubhouse, checking equipment and making improvements around the club — there’s plenty to do before we’re ready to go again.
And that work is only possible thanks to the volunteers and club members who give their time throughout the year.
The cricket might be finished for now, but the club keeps moving forward.
Here’s to everything that’s happened in 2026 — and everything still to come.

What a summer at Denby Dale CC!

​Behind every single run, catch, and cold drink served, there’s a community that makes this club feel like home. The 2026 season was one for the record books, but the real magic wasn't just on the scoreboard it was in every late summer evening spent together at the ground.

​To all the​ players, coaches, volunteers, junior families, supporters, and everyone who poured a pint, flipped a burger, or cheered from the boundary—THANK YOU. You are the heart of Denby Dale. ​Here’s to countless memories made, endless reasons to be proud, and an even bigger 2027! 💚🏏

What a season it’s been. 🏏✨
​That’s a wrap on another incredible summer of cricket! The kit might be packed away, but the memories, the laughs, and the community spirit are here to stay.
​From nail-biting finishes and personal bests on the pitch to sun-soaked socials, epic club nights, and endless cups of tea (and a few cold drinks after the match!), this season proved once again why our club is so special.
​A massive thank you to everyone who made it happen:

What a great end of season event last night! It was wonderful to see so many people coming along and enjoying the evening.

​A massive congratulations to all our junior players who received awards during their presentation evening, and well done to everyone who got stuck into the parent vs child matches! 🏏

​A big thank you to Sri Lankan Food for providing such delicious food for us all! 🇱🇰🍽️

​Another huge thank you to everyone for all the presents, cakes, flowers, and harvest donations, and to John for getting through selling it all during the auction and raising fantastic funds for the club!

That’s a wrap on summer! 🌾🏏
​As the season comes to a close, we’ve been looking back at what an absolute belter of a summer it’s been down at the club.
​Whether you’ve spent your weekends cheering from the boundary, grabbed a drink in the sunshine, or even if you’ve just waved as you’ve walked past while a game was on—you’re part of what makes this place so special.
​We’d love nothing more than for you to join us for our End of Season Presentation and Harvest Festival Auction on Friday, September 11th.
​It’s our chance to celebrate a brilliant summer, hand out some well-deserved awards, and host our classic harvest auction. Everything we raise on the night goes right back into keeping the club ticking and making next season even better.

From First Steps to Final Boundaries

​As our very first women’s softball cricket season draws to a close, looking back through this montage feels pretty special.

​If you told us back at the start of the season—fumbling through our first bowling session and trying to remember which way to hold the bat—that we’d create a bond like this, we might not have believed you. But what a year of memories it has been.

​From those cold early matches and nervous first-timers stepping up to the crease, to the constant laughs, sideline cheers, and celebrating our milestones together (complete with that unforgettable squad night out at Just Thai on Friday 🍛🥂), this team has become so much more than just a Friday night training session.

​Now, we’ve got one final tournament and a friendly left to play to cap it all off. Let’s head out there, soak up every last moment of our debut season, and leave everything on the pitch.

​There’s always a bittersweet feeling in the air as September rolls in.

​From muddy early-season fixtures through the glorious heatwave games, it’s been an incredible few months of teamwork, laughs, boundary cheers, and unforgettable Sundays.
