Post show update: 3.5 weeks post show
The struggle is real. Never did I imagine it would be so hard to watch your body change so damn quick.
Weight gain is usually slow and unnoticeable for a while, but post show hasn’t been smooth. Definitely struggled with getting a routine back, not over indulging and sticking to my set calories and macros.
It’s hard to keep focussed when your next goal is not so soon, in the near future or if it’s so far away that you don’t NEED to be so strict.
My next goal is to gain some muscle, create some more shape and build my body to the way I want it to be.
Did I think I would struggle after dieting? No. Have I? Yes.
I have felt lost, unhappy, like I’ve let myself down and let all my goals go.
Not only that but like I don’t have a right to do my job… being a personal trainer/coach. This definitely isn’t a case, in fact it probably makes me a better one to fully understand these emotions and feelings.
I’m just now working towards something that’s different to being as lean as I can be. Trying to be happy in the way that I look that isn’t a lil lean bean.
It’s a work in progress but it’s something I’m definitely coming to terms with now.
Training is good now, I’m doing cardio (not all of it lol) I’m eating good food but enjoying treats too. Trying to get a normal life back for a while before I pick my next show 👀
It’s okay to struggle you just have to keep showing up even when you are.
If you are struggling I suggest getting in touch with anyone who can help, your friends or family, a coach, a partner. Anyone that will try make you realise you aren’t failing.

“I want to tone up”
Something I’ve heard a thousand times, especially from women.
This is also known as body recomposition.
This goal depends on two things. Having a decent amount of muscle mass to have that shapely body.
And having low enough body fat to show case the muscle tone.
Not easy to do at the same time, but not impossible.
So what do you do to achieve this?
First, a calorie deficit to achieve the fat loss that is required to achieve the look of a lean physique.
And second…. train heavy, controlled and progressively with lifting weights
and most likely some cardio will be required too (not always but it can help)
You CAN build muscle in a deficit, it ain’t easy and isn’t OPTIMAL for a mass amount of muscle gain, but it is possible.
You have to be in a deficit, and for most people it won’t be a ‘12 week transformation’ but a long, steady and consistent deficit for months at a time.
That doesn’t mean you can’t have a life whilst doing this, BUT if you want the absolute best result you could ever achieve then yes a limited lifestyle is required and optimal, but again not impossible to achieve whilst STILL enjoy life.
What you need is accountability, support and direction with clear goals to hit and a clear reason for WHY you want to achieve these goals.
If this is something you want, the sooner you start, the sooner you get there.

POST SHOW
These pics were at my leanest, not how I’m currently looking.
Definitely struggling mentally with no longer feeling tight and depleted. I’m 2kg up from my lowest weight, my abs aren’t popping and my body looks ‘soft’.
But the goals are set and plans in place to get strong and to grow much more muscle mass for next year.
I’m going to compete in a different federation and beat this girl above on all things; muscle density, condition and my presentation.
As much as I’m struggling with gaining a little water weight and with going back to a structured diet, having a long term goal to work towards is exactly what I needed to focus.
Straight after the show I felt lost and rather confused at what I wanted to do going forward, another show.. take time off… I didn’t know. But after making my decision my mind is at ease to be able to enjoy life a little and take a long needed rest from dieting.

Results don’t come easy, but they’re worth the feeling of achievement afterwards
Always remember why you’ve started out doing something and then you’ll never quit at achieving it

POST PREGNANCY
Ria is a close friend of mine who after she had her beautiful bubba, decided she wanted to take control of her life and get back into good shape...
Ria has a little baby to look after, her partner works full time but she still manages to prioritise her health and fitness. There really is no excuse if you really want it enough!
Ria has lost almost a stone, these pictures were two months apart. However her weight for the last few weeks hasn’t dropped, her body composition however has drastically changed as you can see….
Do not put all the stress on a number on a scale, it literally means nothing. Go off how you look and FEEL!
So proud of her, looking so good and still so much progress to come

8 weeks 😯
successful body recomposition phase for Chloe ✔️
Boy fat down
Strength going up
Muscle tone now starting to peep through 👀
No strict food plan still with a flexible lifestyle, ideal right?
Becoming self-sufficient and accountable with your own goals and believing in what you can really achieve is key.
A long term lifestyle change that is more than the 8 weeks that you see here…
Chloe is a very social person but someone who still wanted a change and to really feel herself again 🙌🏻
Safe to say she’s on her way to that
