Fantastic News for Our New Net Facility! 🎉

We’re delighted to share that we are one step closer to making our new net facility a reality. The project is expected to cost between £35,000 and £40,000.

This week, Rachael and Kenners attended the Meltham Town Council meeting, where we were thrilled to receive the news that the Council has generously agreed to award the Cricket Club a £10,000 grant towards the project.

This incredible show of support is a huge boost and takes us significantly closer to our goal. We’d like to say a massive thank you to Meltham Town Council for backing this exciting development for our club and community.

Meltham Cricket Club, established in 1867, has been at the heart of our community for over 150 years.

This season alone, more than 70 junior players have trained with us on Friday nights and proudly represented the club in age groups ranging from Under 9s to Under 17s.

Our ladies team has gone from strength to strength, with over 20 players this season — and they’ve made us proud by winning back-to-back league titles.

We’re also thrilled to see the next generation stepping up, with over 16 current or former juniors playing in our senior teams throughout the season.

As a club, we don’t have the benefit of a clubhouse or bar to support our day-to-day expenses. We rely heavily on fundraising, sponsorship, and generous donations, which unfortunately limits our ability to take on major improvement projects.

That’s why we’ve launched this crowdfunding campaign — to raise funds for a brand new two-lane net facility. This vital upgrade will benefit all our current players and provide lasting value for generations to come.
