⛳ It's been a fantastic week for our members at Huddersfield!

There’s been plenty to celebrate, with some outstanding performances from our members across Yorkshire and beyond.

🏆 Charlotte Hird & Savannah Ramsden
The pair successfully retained the Junior Team Prize at the Halifax & Huddersfield Union of Golf Clubs Junior Team Championships at Hanging Heaton Golf Club.

The trophy was kindly donated by past Huddersfield member Dougie Gordon, making the achievement even more special.

🇨🇭 Lily Hirst
A fantastic performance on the LET Access Tour at the Lavaux Ladies Open in Switzerland, where Lily finished 6 under par to become the Leading Amateur. An excellent achievement on the international stage!

🏌️ Habib Khan
Habib competed in the County Champion of Champions, finishing an impressive 5th, following his success at the Yorkshire Amateur, which we were proud to host back in August.

Over the weekend, Habib was back in action at the Yorkshire Matchplay Championship at Sand Moor, alongside fellow member Dylan Shaw-Radford, who progressed all the way to the Semi Final.

🥈 Warren Lockett
Also at Sand Moor over the weekend, Warren was Runner Up in the Yorkshire UGC Seniors Match Play Championship — another fantastic performance from one of our members.

A brilliant collection of results and a great reflection of the quality of golf being played by our members.

Congratulations, Charlotte!

A huge congratulations to our Honorary Life Member Charlotte Heath, who claimed her first victory on the Ladies European Tour over the weekend at the La Sella Open in Denia, Alicante.

Charlotte produced a fantastic performance and sealed the title in style, birdieing the final hole to win by two shots.

A brilliant achievement and a very special moment. Well done, Charlotte — we’re all incredibly proud of you! 👏

The 5th Hole

A Par 5 where good course management can make all the difference.

A left-to-right tee shot will leave you short of the bunker and in a good position to plan your next shot.

A good second will leave a short pitch into a two-tier green, but choosing the right line and distance is important.

If the flag is on the front tier, whatever you do, don’t go past the pin!

Getting the pin position just right

One of the Q School officials carefully testing the slopes of our 10th green to ensure the pin position met the required limits.

Fortunately, this one was within the permitted parameters — but it got us thinking…

⛳ The course is looking fantastic following Q School.

After hosting the DP World Tour Q School for the third consecutive year, the course is in excellent condition and ready to be enjoyed.

🏌️ One of our own at Q School

It was brilliant to see Huddersfield member Dylan Shaw-Radford competing at DP World Tour Q School last week.

And what an achievement — Dylan was the only amateur to make it through to Stage 2, earning his place in the next stage of the journey. 👏

He’ll now compete at a venue in Spain at the end of October, taking on another huge test as he looks to progress further towards the DP World Tour.

Having one of our own players taking on an event of this calibre is something we are very proud of, and we’ll certainly be following Dylan’s progress closely.

A successful week at Huddersfield Golf Club

We were delighted to welcome the DP World Tour Q School to Huddersfield for the third consecutive year.

It was a privilege to host such a prestigious event and to see some outstanding professional golf played on our course throughout the week.

We would like to thank everyone involved in making the event another great success, and it was a pleasure to welcome players, officials and spectators to the Club.

Thank a Greenkeeper Day ⛳

Today we recognise the dedication and hard work of our greenkeeping team, whose efforts ensure that Huddersfield Golf Club continues to provide the high standard of course our members and visitors enjoy.

From the early starts to the work that continues throughout the changing seasons, maintaining a golf course requires considerable skill, knowledge and attention to detail.

Much of this work takes place behind the scenes, but its importance is clear every time we step onto the course.

We are fortunate to have such a committed team caring for Huddersfield Golf Club.
