"I hate playing defensive teams"..... Bill Shankly after losing 5-1 to Anderlecht!
He lived on Crosland Road, Oakes and is pictured playing in his usual Sunday morning match against the locals.
Most of the dads wanted to get away for a pint at 12 o clock but soon realised that the match did not finish until Shankly's team were winning!
Hence Bill's team usually scored the winner just before opening time.

"The socialism I believe in is not really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day.".................Bill Shankly

"Children are to get extra lessons to steer them away from knife crime and gang culture by teaching them the importance of good role models like youth workers and sports coaches"

Not exactly rocket science is it?
Moor End Juniors have a vital role to play if this initiative is to succeed.
Our aim is to get hundreds of kids enjoying football FREE OF CHARGE at Moor End Academy.
Will we get the support we need?
We hope so!
Children to get extra lessons to steer them away from knife crime
Children aged 11 to 16 will be taught the importance of having good role models instead of being influenced by gang leaders.
