Year 11 school leavers .......
Here’s what we do at Kirklees college football academy ⚽️⚽️
Train 3 times a week outdoors and indoors at Leeds Rd state of the art 3G pitches
Play matches for all 3 teams on a Wednesday afternoon in the top college leagues in the North
Thursday morning we have strength and conditioning/video analysis sessions.
Academy Students have free use of our on site state of the art college gym.
We have great links with football clubs outside of college once the students have completed their courses.
This doesn’t impact on any of the teams students play in at weekends.
We deliver level 1 coaching award allowing the students to earn money during and once they’ve moved on from college.
Students have a range of courses they can study while being a part of the football academy .
We currently have students studying a whole range of courses from car mechanics , plumbers , construction , barbering, public services and many more from different areas along with the students studying sport .

We are now into day 16 for the football academy challenge . A total of 1211. Miles have been covered by students and staff as we aim to cover the length of the UK and back over the lockdown period
Some fantastic efforts by the students so far with Sophie Evans currently out in the lead covering an unbelievable 229 miles by herself 👏👏
A fantastic prize will be given for the top student with the next 4 students receiving prizes .
Only 471 miles to go ..... keep going everyone and keep continuing to exercise during the lockdown period .

Any Year 11 school leavers take a look , you don’t have to just study sport at Kirklees College to be part of our academy ⚽️

Year 11 school leavers who are serious about developing their footballing skill and knowledge can apply for a course at Kirklees College and become part of our football academy for sept 2021 . You can apply for a number of courses we offer that allows you to study your chosen subject and play football at the same time .
We currently have students studying sport , public services , construction , motor vehicle , barbering and many more courses that allow them to train 3 times a week and play matches on a Wednesday afternoon. ⚽️
We also have a strength and conditioning and game analysis session running alongside this programme
We hope to visit Valencia again next year as part of a 2 week footballing trip that is absolutely fantastic for all the students, making memories for life .
