❤️🧥 Help Keep a Child Warm This Winter 🧥❤️

Slaithwaite Cricket & Bowling Club are working with Kirklees Uniform Exchange Coat Appeal

Uniform Exchange is a charity which operates in Kirklees to provide local families with free school uniform - https://www.uniform-exchange.org

Uniform Exchange is asking for donations of warm and waterproof winter coats to help local children across Kirklees stay warm as we approach the winter months. Coats are provided to school pupils identified by their school as needing extra support. Behind every donated coat is a child who can walk to school, play outside and learn in comfort and confidence - whatever the weather 🥶

If you have a coat that is no longer needed, please consider donating it. Uniform exchange is appealing for coats suitable for school age children aged 3 to 16 years.

You can make donations this Friday 25th September at Junior Presentation Night from 5pm at the Tea Room of Slaithwaite Cricket & Bowling Club.

Before donating, we politely ask that coats are:

- warm, waterproof and suitable for winter weather
- ⁠all zips, buttons and fastening are in working order
- ⁠the coat is clean
- ⁠there are no tears, holes or significant damage

Every coat we donate stays local and helps a child and their family through the winter months.

Unfortunately due to low ticket sales we’ve had no choice but to cancel our planned Octoberfest on Saturday 3rd October.

Tickets already purchased will be refunded in due course.

🏏 REMEMBERING ALFIE ❤️

On Sunday, our 3rd XI played their final game of the season, but the day meant so much more than just cricket as we came together to remember Alfie, one year on.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special and fitting day of remembrance.

A special thank you must also go to SBCI CC, who were absolutely fantastic throughout the day. Your kindness, respect and support were hugely appreciated by everyone at Slaithwaite Cricket & Bowling Club. 🏏❤️

As the season comes to an end the preparation for next years season starts. We are looking for new bowlers to come and join our Bowling Teams.
We play Tuesdays(Mirfield league)
Wednesday( Colne Valley league ) Thursday’s ( Huddersfield Works league)
and also Saturday afternoons ( Huddersfield league )

If you are an experienced bowler or someone just starting out we would love to hear from you

Join us this evening for and end of season drink.

The lads finish the season today and will be having a few beers to see out the summer.

Relegation fighting Tottenham v Everton is on the tv from 5:30pm.

Tomorrow we have a 3rd team fixture v Sowerby Bridge from 1pm follow by the Manchester Derby at 4:30pm live on all 4 screens.
