I'll be honest... I've stood on the scales before and felt disappointed too.

You feel like you've had a good week. You've trained consistently, eaten well and made better choices. Then you step on the scales expecting to see a big drop... and hardly anything has changed.

It's easy to think, "What's the point?"

But before you throw the towel in, take a step back.

What are you actually comparing yourself to?

It could be the weight you were 20 or 30 years ago. Since then you've built a career, maybe you've had children, life has become busier and your body has naturally changed. That's okay.

If you're training consistently, eating well and looking after yourself, don't let one number convince you that you're failing.

Instead, look at the bigger picture.

πŸ’ͺ🏻 Are you getting stronger?

πŸ‘— Do your clothes fit better?

πŸ”‹ Have you got more energy?

πŸ‘ŠπŸ» Do you feel more confident?

The scales are just one way of measuring progress. They're useful, but they never tell the whole story.

And if the number isn't what you hoped for this week, don't let it undo all the hard work you've already put in.

Keep going.

So proud of Mack for finishing his first full week at school.

He’s absolutely loved it, already made a couple of new friends, and I’ve even got my first piece of artwork ready for the fridge. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

A big new chapter for him, and he’s taken it all in his stride. ❀️

Short on time?

This is one of the reasons we like Wall Balls.

They challenge the legs, shoulders, core and cardiovascular system all at once, meaning you build strength and fitness together.

For busy adults, that matters.

You don’t always need hours in the gym.

Sometimes smarter training wins.

And the best part?

Exercises like this can be adapted to suit different fitness levels and confidence levels too βœ…

Efficient, challenging and surprisingly fun once you get into the rhythm πŸ˜…

Most people start their fitness journey focused on one thing...

The number on the scales.

And that's understandable.

But after coaching people for years, we've found something interesting.

The members who achieve the best long term results don't spend all their time obsessing over the scales.

They focus on learning how to train properly.

Showing up consistently.

Building confidence with weights.

Moving better.

Eating a little better.

Sleeping a little better.

Bit by bit, those habits become part of who they are.

And when that happens...

The results usually take care of themselves.

That's why we coach habits first and outcomes second.

The funny thing is, that's normally how you get the best outcomes anyway. πŸ”₯

Can’t quite believe today was the final time I’ll be dropping Mack off at nursery before he starts school in September! ❀️

He’s grown up into such a beautiful little boy and I’m incredibly proud of him.

The end of one chapter and the start of a very exciting new one.

Where has the time gone?! πŸ₯Ή

πŸ† JULY MEMBER OF THE MONTH πŸ‘‰πŸ» SUSAN! πŸ†

And for the second time, Susan has earned herself a Member of the Month hoodie! ❀️

Susan might be one of the smallest people in the gym, but she is without doubt one of the fittest, strongest and feistiest!

She's been training with me for well over a decade now, and in all those years her commitment to looking after her health and fitness has never changed.

She's always pushing herself. Always wanting to get stronger. Always wanting to improve her fitness. And she's living proof of just how capable your body can remain when you consistently look after it.

Over the years, I've lost count of the number of people who've watched Susan training and said some version of, "Wow, she's fit!"

And they're absolutely right.

She's become a real role model to so many people at Phoenix, and she's also become a genuine friend of mine after all these years of training together.

For Susan, being fit and strong isn't just about what she can do in the gym either. It's about staying healthy, enjoying life and having the fitness and energy to keep up with her grandchildren for many years to come. πŸ’ͺ🏻

More than ten years in and she's still showing up, still pushing herself and still getting better.

A thoroughly deserved second Member of the Month win.

Congratulations Susan! πŸŽ‰πŸ¦β€πŸ”₯

People often think getting fitter is about one big decision.

It isn't.

It's hundreds of small ones.

Choosing to come to the gym after a long day.

Preparing a decent lunch instead of grabbing whatever's easiest.

Going for a walk when the sofa is calling.

None of those things feel life changing on their own.

But keep making those choices, week after week, and one day you'll look back and realise just how far you've come.

That's why we focus so much on consistency.

Keep showing up.

Keep moving forward.

And whatever you do...

Never, never, never give up. πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

If you've been neglecting your health and fitness for the last four years...
..you can't expect to completely turn things around in four weeks.

That isn't negative.

It's just honest.

But don't underestimate what four weeks can do.

It can help you build a routine again.

It can help you feel stronger, fitter and more energetic.

It can help your clothes start fitting better.

It can improve your confidence.

And perhaps most importantly, it can prove to you that you can stick to something.

That's how we've always approached things.

The first few weeks aren't about chasing perfection. They're about understanding where you're starting from, building momentum and creating habits that genuinely fit around your life.

From there, we start building towards your goal.

For some people, that's finally feeling confident enough to take their top off on holiday, or wear a bikini on the beach without feeling self-conscious.

For others, it's wanting to look and feel their best on their wedding day. Maybe they've found the dress they love or bought the suit they want to wear, and they simply want it to fit the way they imagined.

Sometimes people walk through our doors because they've had a health scare, and their doctor has told them it's time to take their health more seriously.

Sometimes it's rebuilding strength after an injury, so they can get back to doing the things they enjoy without constantly worrying about it.

Other times they've been talked into signing up for a charity 10K with work colleagues and suddenly realise they'd better start getting fit!

We've even had members who wanted to become fitter and stronger before starting a family, giving themselves the best possible foundation for pregnancy and everything that comes after.

And then there are the people who simply reach a point where they look in the mirror and think,

"I've let things slide a bit. It's time to get back on track."

The goal might be different.

But the process rarely is.

Start where you are.

Keep showing up.

One good decision at a time πŸ‘πŸ»

If you've been saying,

"I'll start after summer..."

"I'll wait until work calms down..."

"I'll get back into it next month..."

You're not the only one.

Life always finds a way of getting busy.

That's exactly why we've built Phoenix the way we have.

Proper coaching.

A clear plan.

Accountability.

A great group of people around you.

No guesswork.

No intimidation.

Just a straightforward way to become fitter, stronger and healthier.

If you've been waiting for the "right time"...

Maybe this is it.

This one catches people out πŸ˜…

Prowler pulls might not look flashy, but they’re brilliant for building strength, fitness and resilience.

They challenge the legs, back, grip and core while also helping with posture and overall conditioning.

And because you’re moving under control, they’re a great option for improving fitness without loads of impact.

At Phoenix we’re big fans of exercises that actually transfer into real life.

Getting stronger.
Moving better.
Feeling fitter.

That’s the goal 🎯
