One of the biggest worries people have before coming to AGF is:

“What if I can’t keep up?”

Well

There’s a massive range of people here

Some have trained with me since the very beginning
Some are only a couple of weeks into their journey
Some have just come back from injury
Some haven’t exercised for 20+ years
Some have had knee or hip replacements
Some have trained in loads of different places before coming to AGF

And that’s exactly the point

Yes, we all follow the same workout, but the workout doesn’t have to look exactly the same for everyone

If you’re struggling with an exercise, we adapt it. If something doesn’t feel right, we change it. If you need to take things a little easier, that’s absolutely fine!

We’re not here to be sergeants shouting at you to do more

We’re here to help you enjoy exercise

To find something that feels comfortable enough that you actually want to come back. To enjoy the social side. To slowly get a little fitter, a little stronger and a little more confident

Because the goal isn’t to come into AGF and be the best

The goal is to bring the best out in you

And that starts with simply turning up

Maybe your first few sessions you do hardly any of the workout and spend half the time chatting 😂 and honestly, that’s fine!

Because if you keep turning up, eventually you’ll do a little bit more

Then you’ll try a little bit more

Then you’ll get a little bit stronger

And before you know it, something that felt difficult six months ago is now just part of your normal session

We play the long game at AGF, not the short game

So it genuinely doesn’t matter where you’re starting from

Come in as you are, and we’ll work with you from there 💙

Do you want to stay strong and fit for your grandkids?

As we get older, our muscle mass and fitness naturally starts to decline

That can make keeping up with your family harder

But it doesn’t have to be that way!

With the correct exercises, done in the right way, you can build your strength and fitness back up. So you can keep enjoying life with your loved ones

Venetian Fete 2026, our first ever float! 🎉

And you know what? We were going for best dressed
 that was the aim (didn’t win it, even with 2 lots of bribes to the judges and making a leap of faith back to the boat
 how very dare they!)

But do you know what I’ve taken away most from the actual day, the float and everything that went with it? How many people came out and volunteered their time to support AGF

We had seven people on the float, all willing to dress up, look silly and just bring the pure energy and banter that we wanted to give everybody. It was all about creating an atmosphere and making sure people had a good time. (Big up Libbie, Phoebe, Leon, Maria, Marie, Jo, Geoff and JJ)

The right hand man, Jay, who whatever task I throw at him or whatever mad idea I come up with, just goes, “Yep,” and gets on with it. 😂 Even with the workload he already has going on in his own life, he’s always there

Leesh (my partner) gets put under strain too, because she basically becomes a single mum whenever I decide to do these bloody things, with the amount of time and effort that goes into them 😂💙

And then Jojo, Georgie and Jayne, who stood at the stall all night, getting people involved with the raffle, talking to everyone, encouraging people to get into exercise and just being absolute legends!

(Also Pete Nash, my mum, dad, Megan, Sarah who all help with the organisation too 💙)

And that’s what I think I’ve taken away from the day more than anything

It wasn’t the float itself

It was the people

The amount of people who were there simply because they wanted to be. Because they wanted to help, get involved, have a laugh and support the gym and the AGF brand

I genuinely didn’t expect that to be my biggest takeaway. I thought it would just be about building a float and dressing up

But actually, it was seeing everyone get involved, have fun and be willing to give up their time just to support something they believe in

And honestly, I think that’s pretty bloody special💙

AGF wouldn’t be what it is without the people behind it

Hythe Fitness Festival 2026 💙

Coach Leon and I joined the committee when this event was just an idea, so it’s been amazing to see it all come together. For a brand new festival, I think it was a huge success! 🎉

It was great speaking to so many people about the importance of strength training, especially for those in their 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. Strength training isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about building the strength to enjoy life. Whether that’s picking up your grandkids, playing with them without worrying about your back or knees, staying independent, or simply being able to do the things you love for years to come.

Even better, we had 9 people sign up for a free trial week so exciting times ahead! 🙌

A brilliant day, an amazing community, and hopefully the first of many.
