๐ŸŒฟ Woodland Reset๐ŸŒฟ

I have decided to hold one last event this year in 'Belle,' so we can enjoy this beautiful safe haven once more, before I take her down for the Winter. It will be an afternoon of yoga, breathwork, meditation and relaxation, with the intention of completely resetting the nervous system, to shift the body into a state of calm. This woodland reset will be a calm, nature led afternoon to ground, breathe and reconnect. We gather amongst the trees and beautiful natural open space to experience less noise and more presence.

Date: Saturday 26th September
Time: 2pm - 3.30pm (refreshments served afterwards)
Cost: ยฃ28
What to bring: Yoga mat, blanket, yoga block if required
Venue: Woodland between Ashby and Moira

What to anticipate:-

๐ŸŒฟ Nourishing breathwork and mindful regulation
๐ŸŒฟ Gentle yoga sequences and movement
๐ŸŒฟSoulful music
๐ŸŒฟ Intentional pause and reflection
๐ŸŒฟ Walking meditation to a lake
๐ŸŒฟ Deep rest and relaxation

There are 10 spaces available, so let me know if you would like to join me for this beautiful afternoon and I can forward you details as to how to book in. Once you have made your booking, I will forward details as to how to locate the bell tent, it is very easy to find.

See you in the trees hopefully. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ‚๐ŸAutumn Yoga Workshop ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚

What an incredible afternoon, welcoming the Autumn season, in a beautiful woodland, set within a circle of trees. There's no better way to feel a synergy with the energy of Mother Nature, than in a woodland. Autumn is a time of transition, Mother Nature is turning inwards and slowing down, with cooler temperatures and less daylight hours. This workshop encouraged everyone to slow down, after the high energy of Summer and take more time to turn inwards and rest and reflect. Just as trees start to shed their dead leaves, we reflected on what we needed to let go of in our lives, that has held us back this year so far. Our yoga sequences and breathwork encouraged a sense of release, 'there is so much space, freedom, and graciousness in letting go.' A seed was also planted in our minds and hearts, a positive intention, to help sustain and nourish our sense of health and well being, during this period of transition, which can sometimes leave us feeling melancholy after the high energy of Summer.

The deep relaxation was set around this mighty ancient oak tree, which is 350 years old. โ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŒณ Looking up at the boughs of this oak and the leaves starting to fall, we recognised how we ourselves are moving away from the more active, outgoing and productive time of year of growing new projects and creating, to slowing down a little, retreating a little more and harvesting energy for the colder months ahead. The mighty oak taught us to gather, harvest and nourish the seeds of our soul, and let go of the deadwood, as the wheel of the year continues to turn.

The workshop next week, 19th September, is sold out, but there are places still available for the Autumn Yoga Workshop on the 4th October. ๐Ÿ™

The Autumn leaves are starting to fall and can you feel a change in the air? The Autumn season is a time of transition, everything is about to change, the daylight hours, the temperatures, and the general feeling in the air. Following the full heat and energy of Summer, self-care is even more important to keep ourselves in good health.

Join me if you can for a half day seasonal yoga workshop to immerse yourself fully into the rhythm, spirit and mood of the Autumn season. A time of year to let go of the dead wood and make room for the new, the falling leaves are about to show us how beautiful it is to let things go. Change can be beautiful, if you embrace it with an open heart.

The workshop will be two hours of creative restoring yoga sequences, breathing practices, inspiring yoga philosophy, poetry, soulful music, Ayurvedic wisdom, meditation and deep relaxation. The workshop will help you to bring about a sense of balance energetically, it will encourage you to slow down, take time to rest and reflect, and inspire you to align yourself with the energy and spirit of Autumn, when everything begins to slowly turn inward. It is two hours of pure self-care and nourishment, it is extremely stilling and quietening.

I have decided to make the most of the bell tent, or Belle as I call her, and I am holding two outdoor Autumn Equinox Yoga Workshops on the 13th and 19th September, and if any of you prefer an indoor venue, I will be holding the same event at the usual location, the beautiful Village Hall at Stanton Under Bardon on the 4th October. The bell tent events will be from 2pm - 4pm and the Village Hall event will be 10am - Noon. The next two weekends are going to be sunny and warm, so I am so excited to be able to hold the Autumn Workshop outside for once, it will enable an even deeper connection with the energy of the Autumn season.

The address of the Village Hall, is Stanton Under Bardon Village Hall, St John Cole Crescent, LE67 9AE. The bell tent is located in woodland between Ashby and Moira, and once you have booked in, I will give the full details of where it is, but it is really easy to find.

The cost of the workshop is ยฃ32 and once you have made payment, your space will be reserved. There are 10 spaces within the bell tent and 30 spaces at the Village Hall. If you would like a space, please message me and I will give you details as to how to book in.

I hope that you will be able to join me for this memorable, soulful seasonal event. Some of my yogis have been coming to these workshops since I first started teaching them many years ago, it has become almost like a tradition that we share to mark the changing of the seasons and I absolutely love teaching these sessions.

I'll never forget this Summer. I wasn't sure if it would work, I remember thinking, well if no one comes, at least I've had a great time working in the woods, and I've got an amazing tent to go camping in!

To all the yogis who have come so far, I think 70 people have been, thank you. โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿง˜

Next weekend, I'm considering holding an Autumn Equinox Yoga Workshop, Sunday is looking sunny. โ˜€๏ธโ™ฅ๏ธ

โ˜€๏ธ Sunset Yoga โ˜€๏ธ

Practising yoga in a woodland has so many benefits both physically and mentally, but to practise it as the sun is setting takes it to a deeper level.

As we practised, I encouraged everyone to connect with the natural world, including the sun, as we often take it for granted, burning bright above us everyday. The sun's power is like a natural medicine, as sunlight boosts our immunity, it helps our bone density, it increases our vitamin D, and increases serotonin production. When we watch a sunset or sunrise or let ourselves feel a part of a sunset or sunrise, it can create a feeling of awe, taking our attention away from our everyday worries and troubles, and bringing our thoughts into the present moment. When we experience a sunset, the fading light helps our circadian rhythm or wake/sleep cycle to function more effectively. As the sun wanes, our pineal gland begins to produce more melatonin and reduces stress hormones, namely cortisol, so the sun setting helps to prepare our mind and body for sleep.

The yoga sequencing, the breathing practises, the meditation and relaxation encouraged a deep connection with the natural world. Our energy felt in harmony with the waning Sun as we gradually wound down for the meditation and relaxation. Everyone commented that they could quite easily have fallen asleep for the night there and then. Towards the end of the session, as dusk fell, one of my yogis saw an owl fly over the bell tent. It was another magical, memorable evening down in the woods. Thank you. ๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒณ

I'm bored doing my book keeping, I saw this flying around on social media and gave it a whirl. I'm determined to be able to keep doing it until I'm 70! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคžโ™ฅ๏ธ Let me know how you get on, but don't try it if you have knee/hip pain, problems or issues. ๐Ÿ˜˜

There are so many benefits to feeling a part of the sun waning and setting. I will share with you, as we practise together, the powerful effects of the sun setting, and how it helps our daily rhythm, and can help to induce relaxation and sleep towards the end of the day. By practising yoga during the golden hour, we can meet ourselves with softness and use the natural waning sunlight to sync our circadian rhythm (internal body clock) and regulate our nervous system.
