π WEEK 3 ROUNDUP π
π1st XI - Hottest day of the Year & stuck in the field first, Joe, Dan & Noddy were the pick of the bowlers all taking 2 wickets each while Chipperfield set 277 as the target! Ickleford set to chase the large score with George & Charlie setting the platform with a partnership of 103, George fell 3 shy of his 1/2 century while Charlie continued and finished on a well respected 67. DJ continued the run chase with a long awaited 52 but also fell, leaving it to the tail needing 40 to win, a great effort by Batesy (22) left Ickleford short by 14 runs.
π 2nd XI - Losing the toss and put into bat Ickleford were faced with a banana shaped wicket that played abit like the current Oil pricesβ¦ Up & Down. Dessie with 22 off 71 proved it wasnβt easy to bat, Browny with another solid performance (40) struggled to reach the boundary with the corn field like outfield. Ickleford set 130. Pick of the bowlers was out 2 youngsters A Perera & T Lace taking 5 wickets between them leaving us with abit of hope, with only 3 overs left Northwood wrapped up the game.
π 3rd XI - π₯ ITS A BAKERY π₯
David & His Son Paul were the stand outs with the bat, David with a well earned 51 & Paul in support 26 lead the 3s to a respectable 162. Paul lead from the front with the ball taking 2 wickets on debut. S Taylor with an unbelievable performance 4/26 off 8! Not bad for a 13 year old, 2nd 4fer in 3 games. Leading Ickleford to win by a comfortable 27 runs!
π 4th XI - Our 4th XI seem to have a thing for 5fers!! Deepak with ridiculous figures of 5/8 & A Warraich 2/28 left OEs with 113/10. In reply skipper Neil Taylor anchored the ship with a respected 10 partnered with quick fire Goutham (20) but the middle order fell pretty rapidly leaving Ickleford shy by 49 runs.
π SUNDAY XI - π₯π₯ 100 CLUB π₯π₯
Skipper Tom Broughton continued his wicket taking season with 4 wickets (I wonβt say how many runs he went for) as Markyate hammered a 257 in 38 overs. In reply Joe Dalrymple became ICCs 52 player to reach 100 runs with a well deserved long overdue 130* carrying Ickleford home to win by 5 wickets.
