Tuesday 4 August
Tonight's club run session will be a flat looped session in pairs on Claremont Road, Ridgeway, Claremont Ave, Claremont Crescent.
Meet outside Idle & Hepworth cricket club to leave at 6.40.
or meet at the session location at 6.50
The benefits of the above session include:
*Pacing skills* : Running repeated 5-minute loops helps runners learn to maintain a steady pace rather than starting too fast.
*Speed endurance* : The short recovery allows partial recovery, so runners can sustain a higher intensity than in a continuous run.
*Aerobic fitness* : Thirty minutes of repeated efforts improves cardiovascular endurance and running efficiency.
*Technique under fatigue:* As the session progresses, runners practise maintaining good running form even when tired.
*Motivation* : Running in pairs encourages teamwork, provides friendly competition, and helps both runners stay accountable.
Recovery practice: The rest between loops teaches runners how to recover quickly before the next effort.
*Progress tracking* : Because the loop is repeated, runners can compare lap times and aim for consistent or slightly faster splits.
*Low injury risk:* A flat course reduces the stress of hills, allowing runners to focus on rhythm and speed with less impact on muscles and joints.
This type of session is particularly useful for building endurance, pacing, and confidence while keeping the workout engaging through partner support.

Tuesday 28 July
Our club session will be at Kingston Grove.
Meet outside Hepworth & Idle cricket ground to be ready to start at 6.40pm.
Or meet us at Kingston Grove to start at 6:50pm.
This 30 minute session trains multiple physiological systems at once — giving you more fitness return per minute than a single‑terrain workout. Uphill builds aerobic power and strength, downhill builds speed and neuromuscular control, and flat recovery allows partial reset so you can repeat high‑quality efforts.
