Head of Care
Susan Day Residential Home, Ilfracombe.
We are looking for an experienced, caring and confident Head of Care to join our management team.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will provide strong leadership to our care team and help ensure our residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care at all times.
Key responsibilities
• Lead, support and motivate the care team.
• Maintain high standards of care, dignity and safeguarding.
• Monitor care plans, documentation and staff practice.
• Support staff supervision, training and development.
• Work closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
• Support audits, quality assurance and CQC requirements.
• Stand in for the Registered Manager during periods of absence.
• Provide Duty Manager cover during annual leave.
• Help promote a positive and supportive culture within the home.
Working pattern
35 hours per week on a 6-week rota, including 7am–3pm, 9am-5pm and 1pm–9pm shifts, and some weekend working
About you
We are looking for someone with previous residential care and leadership experience who is confident, organised and able to take responsibility.
A Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent is desirable, together with a willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management in Adult Care.
You will be passionate about providing excellent care, confident supporting and leading staff, and able to step up and take responsibility when required.
What we offer
• £38,000–£40,000 salary, depending on experience.
