This is a brand new circuit, so please please please:
✔️ Use the toilets provided on-site, not the hedges around the miniature railway (or anywhere else).
✔️ Warm up on rollers or a turbo where possible. We don’t want people taking a lie-down in the car park or racing fellow Trago-goers.

Oh, and whatever you do, don’t turn up to Torbay this week. It’ll just be you & our friends at couch to 5K! 🏃‍♂️

Ilton lived up to it’s billing yesterday, with some challenging conditions across all races.

It was Toby Manning who took the spoils in the 3/4 race first thing, with the hosts taking 2nd & 3rd with Sam Richards & Josh Gray respectively. Manning also secured 6th in the E123 race, earning a boatload of SW series points.

In the National B elite race, Hamish Johnstone from Team Tor came up with the goods on the day to take a fantastic home win. Oscar Hutchings (Schila Doltcini) proved ever consistent in 2nd & Joseph Surmon took the final step of the podium for the University of Bristol.

RACE CANCELLED

Sadly, we’ve not reached anywhere near break-even point for either race at next weekend’s Regional Championships/Ermington Classic, so have no choice but to cancel the event.

For reference, we were seeking 40 riders for the Open & 15 for the Women’s race. We weren’t even close to meeting either of those targets.

Thank you to all those who supported the event - be that through entering, offering to volunteer their time, or the organisations in Ermington village who bent over backwards to accommodate us. We were really excited to deliver a new National B road race course for the riders, with a village centre finish (and even got the council to fill in some of the potholes!). Sadly, it clearly wasn’t to be.

We’ve reached out to the organisers of the South East Regional Champs + Midlands Championships. The South East Champs entries remain open until Thursday, so strongly recommend riders enter this event, or hopefully the Midlands Champs, should they still wish to compete in a Nat B this weekend. We’re waiting to hear back from the Midlands Champs organisers on whether they can re-open entries briefly to accommodate riders who may be closer to their race instead. Will update our riders by email when we hear back from the Midlands organisers.

We’ll also outline what this means for the South West Series points structure in the coming week or so.
