Aikido Ten Shin Kan is welcoming new members who are interested in discovering the benefits of traditional Japanese martial arts.

Whether you’re completely new to martial arts or looking to develop your existing skills, everyone is welcome. Come along, meet the group and give it a go in a friendly, welcoming and relaxed environment — no previous experience is necessary.

Aikido develops balance, movement, coordination and awareness through traditional Japanese martial arts techniques rooted in Aikijitsu and sword movements.

We also practise Iaido – Classical Japanese Swordsmanship, exploring the discipline, precision and focus of the traditional Japanese sword.

Classes are on Thursdays 7-9pm at the Premnay Village Hall in Auchleven (near Insch).

Complete beginners welcome! 🙂

Some more pics from the seminar at the weekend. Had an amazing time with Iaidoka from UK/Northern Ireland, Canada, US & Europe and was great getting to practice and experience Tosa Eishin Ryu.

Day 1 complete of the 3 day Roshukai Annual Uk Iaido Seminar in Leeds with Yoshinouchi Yuji Sensei (9th Dan Soke) and Steve Coniaris Sensei (Menkyo Kaiden). Both are from the Kochi Dojo teaching Tosa Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu. Tosa in Kochi is the home of MJER.

Looking particularly at efficiency of movement so you can respond and draw fast immediately. Will try and get some better pics tomorrow as this was during break time (too busy practicing!)

Aikido classes are back on following the summer break and we are currently looking to take on new members!

If you would like to give something new and exciting a try, feel free to come along and give it go in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As well as Aikido, we also practice Iaido (Classical Japanese Swordsmanship) too.
