LEJOG - DAY 1 A day of two halves. Amazing scenery, lovely roads, drivers who didn't try to mow us down. But on the otherside it was 32 degrees, and made what was an absolutely manageable day into an absolute beast. We drank more water than I thought a body could contain but our Dad & Grandad keep us alive with a couple of pitstops along the way. Congratulations to 90-year-old Peter, who on Thursday became the oldest person ever to cycle from Land's End to John o'Groats 👏

All three of his children joined him on the epic 1,100-mile challenge along the length of the UK.

Peter, who cycled a total of almost 3,500 miles this year while training for his journey, told us he's been met with more encouragement than he expected:

“So many people have been generous. One lady leant out of her car window in a traffic jam and gave me five pounds.

“When my older son was with me someone paid for our meal. Lots of people have been doing that sort of thing.

“It’s been lovely spending time with my children at different stages through beautiful scenery.”
