It was such a pleasure talking to Mr Clarke's P5 class from Newton Park Primary this morning about our upcoming Space Station contact. We started off the session by listening to a recording of the voice repeater aboard the ISS and then talked about life aboard the station. The pupils asked very interesting questions and are keen to submit their own questions to ask the astronaut live on the day. We also launched our mission patch competition to design a mission patch we will use to commemorate our contact. The winning design will have their artwork embroidered and a patch will be given to every pupil that has taken part in the events associated with the contact.

Mr Aitken will be visiting Canisbay Primary tomorrow 🚀

1) A reminder that tomorrow, 22nd April, John GM4SJB is to be giving a Presentation on “Propagation” a subject which I'm sure will be interesting and which we can all learn more about.
7pm to 9pm, Coffee, tea and cake as usual; visitors most welcome. Glachbeg Croft Centre, Allanglach Wood, North Kessock, IV1 3XD

2) April is a five week month so have nothing specifically planned for 29th April, next meeting is an "On-Air" night on the 6th May.

3) Mid-Summer Open Day – Saturday 20th June – Hold The Day. We're at early stages of planning yet but the idea is to have an 'Open Day' on Saturday 20th June open to anyone with an interest in Amateur Radio whether licenced or yet to be. Thoughts, ideas etc. on format, times etc are welcome

We’re coming to the end of our DXpedition to North Uist. We are approaching our 3000 voice contacts and have logged a similar number on digital modes.

During the week operators have also activated WAB squares, SOTA and POTA locations.

Today we’ve had a full storm blowing but the forecast is for winds to drop so we should get the trailer mast and other antenna down tomorrow morning.
