What Wonderful weather so far this week and a great turn out for our Tuesday Spoon 🥄- 5 rinks of pairs 😎 also lovely to see the swans 🦢 back on the river outside the club
Some photos from the Waterloo Open Pairs Competition on Sunday 12th July. We had a great turn out and was lovely to see the green so busy. Green was initially very heavy after recent rain but then thankfully the sun came out... 😎

Results from Waterloo Open Pairs Competition 2026 🏆
Congratulations to the winners of a closely played final, Barbara and Neil (Skip) from Beauly. Hard luck to the runners up Gary and Dave (Skip) from Planefield
On behalf of Angus Shearer President at Waterloo and the Club we would like to thank everyone who made the day such a success.
From all the teams (26) representing 12 clubs stretching from A - Aviemore to B - Brora and places in between. Friends old and new. And to Waterloo club members who played and helped out with the hosting and raffle. To Brian for the loan of Planefield Bowling Club green and helping out a neighbouring club. Much appreciated. And last but not least, to Willie at Ness City Tyres for sponsoring the tournament and Munro Butcher - Butchers and Wholesalers for providing excellent fare for hungry bowlers.

🏆 Waterloo Bowling Club Open Pairs Competition
Due to a great number of entries, we have had to reach out to another local green to accommodate all the games. Our thanks to Brian Christie, President at Planefield for providing their green to help us accommodate what has proved to be a very successful entry field. Thank you to everyone who has supported us for our only Open Competition this year. We are hoping everyone will come along, enjoy the day and their bowls. We look forward to seeing everyone. WBC President Angus Shearer will be present at Planefield. More details to follow…..

A couple of folk from WBC went up to Brora Bowling Club yesterday to watch the culmination of the District1 finals. Congrats to everyone at Brora and the District 1 Coordinator for a successful event and everyone who progressed to Stage 2 in Ayr, including local players from Inverness. Scott (U25’s) and Kevin’s triples team from IBC and Eunice and Ali from Planefield (Ladies Pairs). Quite a few local runners up, including our own James, playing in Kirkwall colours who were narrowly defeated in the Gents O55 4’s.
