That’s The Highland Capitals Ice Hockey Club all finished up for this season. 😢

It’s been a mixed bag for us this year. We have some new faces. Our Shield Team narrowly missed out on silverware, losing the final with 40 seconds left on the clock. Our Cup Team getting relegated to the Plate. 🤦🏼‍♂️

We have loved every minute of it though. 🤘🏻

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the teams that have travelled to Inverness and hosted us away! 🫡 For all the support we got throughout the year and from all of our families, friends, sponsors and you, the Caps Ultras 😆🙏🏻 We appreciate all of it 😌

A huge well done to Elvis Lukstins who finished the season as Top Goalscorer with 16 goals and 3 assists! 💪🏻

And to Neil Slavin, who narrowly held on to top the leaderboard on points for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons with 24 points. Scoring 8 goals and 16 assists! 😮‍💨

A massive shout out to Inverness Ice Centre for everything you do and provide for us all year. Here’s to many more hopefully ❤️

🚨 🚨 TOURNAMENT UPDATE 🚨 🚨

Sorry about the lack of social media updates this weekend. We were fighting for survival and came up very short. 🥵

Despite giving it everything we had, we lost all of our games. 4-0 Vs The Warriors. 4-0 against the Glenrothes Cougars. Then 7-2 against the Dundee Michelin despite the score being 3-2 with 2 minutes left in the game! 🤦🏼‍♂️ And today we got humbled 4-0 again by the Paisley Blackhawks.

We still had a great time this weekend though. And the boys played their hearts out despite only having 11 skaters. 💪🏻

That’s us relegated to the Plate Competition now. To be honest…we have been punching at this level for 3 years now. The standard of Cup level teams was soo high this year, even if we had our full squad available, we would have struggled to stay up there. 😮‍💨

It has been a privilege to play up there for 3 seasons however, and we have loved every minute of it. We are actually looking forward to being more of a challenge next year at the Plate. ❤️

A tough loss this morning against the Warriors. We had chances, we just couldn’t finish them.

We forgot our Man of the Match belt. So Calum’s mum baked the boys a cake. So Cake-eater of the game went to Daniel Franks. He never stopped skating! 💪🏻 🥇

🏆 🏆 TOURNAMENT POST 🏆 🏆

This weekend, the Highland Capitals Ice Hockey Club will be taking the best team we can, and will head down to Dundee to take part in the Scottish Recreational Cup.

This will be our 3rd year in a row at this level and we will once again be fighting for our place at the top level of Reccy Hockey in Scotland!

We have 3 games on the Saturday and also kick off the tournament playing in the 1st game.

8:30am Vs The Warriors

13:10 Vs Glenrothes Cougars

18.05 Vs The Dundee Michelin

On Sunday we play our last group game @
13:10 Vs The Paisley Blackhawks

THE Highland Capitals Ice Hockey Club lost their last game of the season last night against a new look lossie_jets team! 🙄

Their 3 lines finally broke our 9 players down. Somehow, we were actually winning 6-4 with 9 minutes to go and they got the game winner in the last 30 seconds of the game. Final score was 7-6

This Saturday we take the short trip along the A96 to play our last game of the season against the lossie_jets before the Cup Tournament in Dundee in 2 weeks!

If you’re free and need one more Ice Hockey fix before we pick up the golf clubs for the summer…then head along to Elgin and cheer us on! 🫡

The Jets were also our 1st game this season. We won that game 10-4. They will be looking for revenge this Saturday night! And we’re short benched. So this will be a good scrap! 😈👌🏼
