As the year comes close to turning, we start to see our seal numbers build up. They will peak in early spring but we already have animals arriving here, to haul-out, relax between fishing trips and moult their fur. It's really important that seals (and other wildlife) isn't disturbed, as they need to conserve energy and not waste it escaping from people. So, please- make space for nature!

As our Policy & Advocacy Manager Gavin Corbett says: "If we are serious about expanding the benefits of recreational walking to more people, especially those living in less well-off areas, then it's local spaces - just as much as our magnificent uplands - which need to feel welcoming and attractive. That's where Scotland's latest Land Reform Bill comes in."
Read Gavin's new blog on why the Bill should require more estates to publish plans showing how they manage access. π
