Its not all highlight reel lift
Yesterday cleans, I've learnt more from failing this lift than I would of if I had made it.
Its 100% there but what needs work is speed under the bar and building that confidence required to throw weight around and moving underneath it.
Weightlifting is truly a humbling sport and by god am I happy to be apart of it!!
P.s. sound on for true comedy gold!

This app is amazing!!!
Why is tracking bar path important?
Keeping the bar as close as possible to the body while transitioning from first pull to second pull. Often if the bar isn't close in these phases it results in a 'bump' as you triple extend and the bar get pushed away from the body...meaning you ain't catching the sucker 😂
Apps like this make it easy to see if you are keeping the bar close to the body. This olympic weightlifting business is just getting started!! More to come
How cool is this!!!
Wee bit of bar path analysing from todays power sn**ch.
Tools like this help make training that wee bit better, being able to analyse the movement, speed and overall technique.
Get ready for more of these videos...as I sit here and geek the hell out!
Tips while socially distancing:
Keep activity levels high, either a home workout or go out for a walk/run
Do the best with what you have, try keep calories in line with your goal, but it's not the end of the world if you go off plan or put on weight, just get back to it when you can
Be considerate of others, this is a time where public health is the priority. There are others out there that are at risk dont be the idiot that doesn't think about others!

Finding the balance with anything in life can be hard, and it takes work.
For me juggling kids, studying and training is tough, but something I constantly work on and at times need to assess and reassess to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
This can be the same with training and nutrition, trying to fit it around your life and not the other way about, can be hard. It takes a conscious effort to make these changes. Assess and reassess to see if your behaviour is in line with your goals, think about ways to fit training and nutrition around your life.
We aim to get fit and healthy to live a better life....don't forget to actually have a life while going through the process...and for the love of god enjoy it!!
Often people see their health as an expense, the truth is your health is an investment.
Your fitness journey is unique to you.
Your training and dieting should fit around your life not the other way about, that means you shouldn't accept some cookie cutter of a program aimed at mass marketing. You should have a program that has been designed for YOU and should fit around your lifestyle. If your a parent and your on the same program/split as your swole work mate (who gyms 6 times a week because their lifestyle allows that) chances are you are not going to progress in all area's you'd be better off with a split that fits around your life that still allows progression.
An example of this would be full body workouts if you are struggling to make it to the gym more than 3 times a week. Your never gonna manage consistency with a 5x week program. STOP setting yourself to failure. Be realistic and train a little smarter not harder
