Find the cause to your mental health, if there is or was one??
There are many reason why you may start to suffer from some sort of mental health condition:
- Change in lifestyle (being isolated at home due to covid, changing of occupation, losing a family member, having a child, etc)
- An incident that has taken place (having a car accident, relationship break up, being bullied, injury, etc)
For me, it was a few things such as a family incident, being isolate by friends and being called fat (leading into body dysmorphia around 19-20) making me want to change and because one of these Instagram models 😂😂
Firstly you need to love and accept yourself and realise not matter how hard things get, what can YOU change, what is in your control.
- paying of debt?
- losing weight?
- saving for things your like/want?
- removing yourself from stressful events - Family, toxic friendship, bad relationships.
What is out of your control:
- Illness
- Losing a loved one
- How other people treat or think or you
- The past
If you ever feel that your in a mental health state, write down what is or isn’t out of your control 🙌🏻

The totem pole is an ancient symbol that represents a family, a lineage, a tribe, or a group of people! Like the totem pole, we want that for Mind Fitness, we want to grow and become a tribe that supports each other and forms a strong mental health ideology! The hardest thing about mental health is you can’t see it, you don’t know what people are feeling and what’s going on inside! We need to make mental health discussion more open and a natural part of life like other topics regarding health. Together we are stronger!

Today is World Mental Health Day! This years theme is focused on those already struggling in a unequal world. Even before the pandemic struck, some people were already facing difficult challenges. More so than ever, we need to look after each other, check on our friends and family and continue to actively work on our own mental health. It’s important!

Mind Fog is something I have often heard people discussing when asked about their mental health. Typically, everything is physically fine and all appears well, but simple decision making and clarity of thought is somehow clouded. From my personal experiences and through talking with others, exercise has been a massive help in lifting the fog and improving my own mental well-being! A ten minute walk to the shops, the morning school run, or a full body workout are perfect ways to help reduce this! Once the fog has lifted it becomes much easier to see the road ahead 🌫🌲🛣
