RACE REPORT
Massive day out for UEA CC at the Ipswich round of Eastern CX yesterday! Having 4 racers and 6 supporters was a proud moment for the club, and everyone would agree our boys did good.
Pres Joe and MTB captain Jack had an hour long punch-up for 27th place, and cross newcomers Freddie and Hugh put on a big show, despite a few close encounters with some foliage…
Thanks to for coming along, and to .raistrick for the cheers! A brilliant day out and an awesome event :)
Great to see and .me there too!

✨EOY Wrap-up✨
What a year it’s been for UEA CC!
Racing Summary: Derby Day 2xW, two team members promoted to Cat 3, back on the Eastern BC racing map! 🚴♂️
Socials: although most people have gone home for summer, a few of us got together for a meal and drinks, as well as watching ITT, looking forward to more next year!
Rides: as well as our regular Wednesday and weekend rides, we have a lot planned for next year including MTB day trips, road/gravel audaxes, and Club League 🚲
Norfolk is a great place to cycle, whether it be on the smooth scenic country roads, winding gravel bridleways, or the jumps and mountain bike trails at Mousehold Heath 😁
We offer something for everyone, whether it be coaching and racing with .me and or social rides for a coffee and cake!
See you in September!

The academic year is drawing to a close but the racing and riding isn’t over yet, with the last criterium tomorrow and Le Tour starting this Friday! 🚴♂️
1. President Joe towing the field, maybe if he saved some bullets he’d get some top 10s? 🤔
2. (Multisport Alert 🏃♂️) Treasurer Sean smashed his second ever half marathon at the hilly Salomon TMW for a 4th place! 21km with 700m climbing in 1:38 is huge!
3. Most students are back home now, but some of us are still about for weekend rides - this one of Road Captain George is from our ride to Cley last weekend 🤩

Big night at crit on Tuesday, with MTB captain Jack securing 19th in his first E123 against a stacked field.
Secretary Joe and Fresher Ed came 14th (didn’t get lost) and 16th (awesome for his first ever Crit) respectively in the Cat 4/Vets race.
Road captain George came along dressed for the occasion but is resting before regionals this weekend!
Our EOY meal at Junkyard Market is tomorrow, meet at SP at 6:40 to ride there or meet there at 7pm!😊

A trip to Cannock Chase for our MTB captain last weekend for the national MTB XC series round 4. A well respected 12th place for our man in the male sport category. Here’s what he had to say:
‘Good first experience at nationals. Started from the back of a 40-man grid due to not having previous points. A tight start into a long section of single track meant the start was very important. Managed to get a decent start and began to move up through the field. By the end of the first lap I was placed 22nd, and gradually moved up to finish 12th. Certainly an eye opener for how rough xc tracks can be, but lots of work still to do.’

A couple weeks ago we went west to Leicestershire where the boys took on the BUCS road race. A rolling 120km course with a 70 rider strong field meant it was a get round mission for our in-house shells, , , and . Decent effort from all but plenty to improve for next year. Many thanks to for organising.
