Every young athlete grows at their own pace, so why are we training them all exactly the same? π¨
During Peak Height Velocity (PHV), the phase where a child experiences their fastest upward growth, their body goes through massive physical changes. Bones lengthen faster than muscles can adapt, coordination temporarily drops, and the risk of injury skyrockets.
If you are evaluating or training a young player purely based on their chronological age, you are missing the most important piece of the puzzle. You have to understand their biological maturation.
We are excited to introduce the Maturation Dashboard on The Hub Sport app! π±
Here is how this new tool helps you build a smarter, safer development plan:
Track Growth: Easily log routine physical measurements to pinpoint exactly when they are approaching or hitting PHV.
Analyze Data: Gain clear insights into their unique biological timeline, identifying whether they are an early, typical, or late developer.
Inform Development: Use objective data to tailor their training routines, adjust physical expectations, and protect their bodies from burning out or breaking down during crucial growth spurts.
Stop guessing about their physical development. Equip yourself with the data to provide the right training at the exact right time. π

Is your athlete struggling to get minutes despite being one of the most skilled on the team? π¨
It is incredibly frustrating to watch from the sidelines when you know their potential. We often assume playing time is a simple equation of raw talent, but at a competitive level, coaches are looking for a completely different puzzle piece.
If you want to help them break through, you need to understand the hidden metrics of team sports.
Here is the reality behind squad selection:
1οΈβ£ Finding Their Fit: Being highly skilled gets you noticed, but executing a specific job gets you on the pitch. Coaches are not always looking for the star, they are often searching for the player willing to do the unseen, gritty work.
2οΈβ£ The Weekly Grind: Saturday's lineup is decided during practice. Managers reward the players who bring relentless focus, positive body language, and high intensity to every single drill.
3οΈβ£ Trust Over Tricks: A dependable athlete who executes the game plan will always win out over a flashy player who goes rogue. Reliability is the ultimate currency in competitive sports.
4οΈβ£ Tactical Chess: Sometimes, being substituted has absolutely nothing to do with their performance. It is frequently a strategic move to match the opponent's size, speed, or formation.
5οΈβ£ Reframing the Ride Home: Shift the focus of your post-game chat. Instead of asking, "Why didn't you play more?", try asking, "How can you make yourself undeniable in practice this week?"
The bigger picture is not just about logging minutes today. It is about raising a resilient, team-oriented player who understands how to build a winning culture. π§

Are you training hard, or are you training smart? π¨
Pushing your limits is essential for growth, but ignoring your body's limits is the fastest way to start burning out. Elite athletes do not just guess their daily workload, they actively monitor their training load to prevent injuries, optimize recovery, and ensure they peak exactly when it matters on game day.
Without tracking your volume and intensity, you are simply flying blind.
We are thrilled to announce that you can now take complete control of your physical development with the brand new Training Load Dashboard on The Hub Sport app! π±
Here is how the new dashboard helps you elevate your game:
Track Your Load: Easily log your daily sessions and monitor the exact physical demands placed on your body over time.
Analyze The Data: Get clear, actionable insights into your fatigue levels, stress accumulation, and overall physical readiness.
Implement Effective Routines: Use objective metrics to adjust your training schedule, maximizing your gains while actively avoiding overtraining.
Stop guessing with your fitness and start treating your body like an elite machine. π

It was a real privilege to see Halo owner Paul Hamilton meet Commonwealth Games medallists Emily and Abigail Roper as part of their visit to the Sports Performance Unit.
The impact, reach and benefits of the Halo Sports Performance Unit continue to demonstrate how it is making a genuine difference to the lives of local elite athletes.
Paul Hamilton's passion for sport were clear throughout the meeting. He spent several hours with Emily, Abigail and their mum Michelle, asking questions, listening to their journey and understanding what support will help them continue to perform at the highest level.
The Halo team were informed of the twinsβ visit, and a number of employees came to welcome them. A particularly special moment was seeing a former gymnast, now part of the Halo team and a close friend of Emily and Abigail, share a photograph with them. A warm, genuine and memorable moment.
Their Commonwealth Games achievements were outstanding:
Team Wales finished 4th, narrowly missing out to England by the smallest of margins.
Emily qualified for the All-Around Final, finishing an incredible 7th.
Both girls qualified for the Vault Final, with Abigail producing two outstanding vaults to secure a Commonwealth Games bronze medal, while Emily finished 4th.
Emily then delivered the best bar routine of her life in the Bars Final, securing another bronze medal.
Through the Halo NextGen Sporting Champions programme, Emily and Abigail will benefit from the Female Specific Support Programme delivered by Ummu alongside Saima Ajaz specialist support in Ipswich and through our partnership base at the Harley Street Longevity Club, Harley Street, London.
Haloβs commitment to supporting local athletes is outstanding and relentless.
A huge congratulations to Emily and Abigail on their incredible achievements.

People assume that creating a "winning team" is all about stacking the roster with top-tier talent. π¨
However, for a young athlete aiming for the elite level, their most crucial squad isn't the one wearing the same kit, it is the network operating behind the scenes. If your child wants to sustain long-term success, they require a professional off-field support system.
Here is who actually builds a champion off the pitch:
1οΈβ£ The Mentor: You need more than just a manager who wins on Saturdays. An elite coach focuses on personal development, tactical IQ, and creating a long-term pathway, rather than just sacrificing development for a weekend medal. π
2οΈβ£ The Body Mechanic: Skill is useless if they are permanently stuck in the medical room. A specialized strength coach or physiotherapist builds physical resilience, fixing minor imbalances before they turn into season-ending problems. π οΈ
3οΈβ£ The Navigator: As players age, navigating trials and academy scouting becomes an absolute minefield. A trusted advisor manages the external noise and relationships, allowing the athlete to concentrate entirely on their performance. π§
4οΈβ£ The Anchor: You are not there to be a sideline tactician or a harsh critic. Your absolute priority is providing emotional security and unconditional love to help them manage the extreme highs and brutal lows of competitive sport. β
The ultimate objective is not just developing a gifted individual. It is about building a world-class environment around them so they can maximize their ceiling without burning out.

Since meeting team Halo my life as a sporting professional has been completely transformed.
Over the next few weeks, weβll be sharing some of the exciting projects we've been developing since beginning our collaboration with in 2025.
It's difficult to put into words the impact of Paul Hamilton and the Halo team. Their support and vision have accelerated ideas that once felt like ambitions into real, meaningful projects.
I've spent many hours around the Halo boardroom table with Chris Brown and Tom Cole listening, learning and being inspired by the team's vision and their incredible global journey.
Halo aren't just leaders in their field; they're true marketplace disruptors. Once you experience the Halo culture, energy and ambition, it changes the way you think about what's possible.
I'm incredibly proud to be working alongside an exceptional group of people under the collective name Team Halo:
Jimmy Reynolds β England Football Medical Team
Raphael Villatore β NSMP Physician ASPETAR
Ajit Mapari β Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine, Founder of Athlex
Saima Ajaz β Internationally recognised expert in female performance programming
Chris McManus, PhD β CASES Accredited Scientist, Senior Consultant & Sports Technology Innovator
Lindi Ngwenya and myself.
Together, we're on a mission to challenge the sports development marketplace by creating innovative, first-mover approaches that develop athletes physically, mentally and emotionally.
One of the greatest gifts Paul Hamilton has given my team is a home. Our new headquarters is more than an office. It's a place where athletes can develop, where partners and sponsors can collaborate, and where the Halo NextGen Sporting Champions programme continues to grow with purpose and impact.
It's also an exciting time for Halo as they begin their next chapter with a move to their new Global HQ in Ipswich's iconic Willis Building. It's a milestone that reflects their continued growth, commitment to Suffolk and ambition to create even more opportunities for local talent.
