Coaches need coaches.
I truly believe that anyone who wants to push themselves and reach their full potential needs a coach—regardless of their field.
I know enough to write a training plan for myself, but that doesn’t mean I should. I’ve been working with Scott for years, and he has never led me wrong. He keeps me accountable, challenges me, and has taught me more than I could ever put into words.
I take the knowledge I’ve gained from him—and from my own experiences—and pass it on to my clients. That process has made me a better coach, too.
Scott gives me the kick up the backside I need when I neglect my strength training. He puts his arm around me when I’m being too hard on myself. And he calls me out when I’m on a treadmill 😂
This past weekend was a brilliant moment in our journey together.
Honestly, if I hadn’t met Scott Brown SBF Gym , I don’t think I’d be a personal trainer or making a living doing what I love. And what I know for a fact is that, without Scott, I wouldn’t be a winner.
I’ve never really won at anything before. I’ve always done all right—but now I can call myself a winner, and that means the world to me.
None of it would have happened without a great coach.
Thank you, Scott. 🏆

The Cherry on the Cake!
And Just like that, my running ultra season is over…. And what a year it’s been.
This weekend I took on the Glenmore 24hour looped ultra and somehow managed to come away with the win.
There is so much to say so apologies for the long post
The race started well. I was managing my pace and feeling pretty controlled but I wasn’t comfortable. My hip/glute was sore - not agony, but enough to know it was there. As the race went on my knee and ankle were starting to hurt too. I suppose that’s the price you pay when you spend your weekends at these sorts of things.
But my head never dipped.
I just kept telling myself if you can run, if you can move, you keep going.
The biggest change in my running the past couple of years is my mentality. When things aren’t going well I’ve learned not to panic and let negative thoughts take over. You adapt, you keep moving forward and you find a way.
A massive thank you to Eubi Robertson Natalie Mackinnon and Kerry Gallagher we hit the start line together and we genuinely supported each other throughout.
To my wife Alison Darling I couldn’t do this without your support and you looked after me so well. That hug at the end nearly broke me ❤️
To the Mackinnon team - you are all a bunch of legends.
I can’t thank you enough for the support. You made this wee guy feel like a champ every time I came in.
Sean MacKinnon Cam
Scott Brown SBF Gym you have looked after me for years chasing down my goals, and given me so much wisdom along the way. Thank you for the chats, the time you take with me, the advice and the friendship we have built up. Forever grateful 🤝
Thank you to Susan Alderson for booking this race as part of my 40th. She always thinks I’m mad when she asks me what I want and I say “book me a race” 😂 at least this one came with a trophy
Thank you for all the kind messages of support from everyone, it’s all a bit overwhelming.
And one more thank you to Eubi and Alison, in the last hour you both really push me hard when I needed it the most to seal the deal.
Now it’s time to rest, recover and properly reflect on what has been an incredible season.
What a year

Out a really good training run with one of the first lads I’ve looked after.
Gavin Thomson - Helping you Move Well. Think Well has already taken down Devil O the Highlands Footrace race this year. I can’t wait to crew him along side Robbie Simpson for Highland Fling Race
He is in good form and head seems in the right place.
Really enjoyed your company today Gav on a good training run.

What a brilliant wee holiday we have just had.
Me Alison Darling and the girls have just spent the better part of six days down Sands of Luce Holiday Park caravan park. We absolutely loved it. A beautiful park with a cracking bar/ restaurant The Lighthouse. Bar & Restaurant @ Sands of Luce.
Life is so unbelievably busy at times, we all feel that. This was such a peaceful trip with visits to Portpatrick, Mull of Golloway light house, Logan Botanic Garden Castle Kennedy Gardens
I feel we really got to make the most of our trip. One more day off tomorrow and it’s back to work but I do feel I got exactly what I wanted from this break, Alison and the girls loved it and Lulu had the best time too.
Big thank you to Sandie Pow and kapowski99 for letting us use their caravan, honestly it was much appreciated. If you’ll let us we will defo be back 🤜🤛💙
Recharge complete we go again!! 🔋
