This is an official parkrun page. A free timed 5k, all are welcome to attend to walk, jog or run the course. Every Saturday at 9.30am.

Please register on the parkrun website before coming and bring your barcode with you.😊 Free, weekly, 5km timed run in the beautiful surroundings of Eglinton Country park. Register before your first run at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/, bring a printed copy of your barcode, and run with us at 9.30am. We're a welcoming and sociable timed run, we welcome and encourage runners of all abilities to take part.

In Loving Memory of Annette Waddington 💜

Forever part of our parkrun family

Some people make parkrun special simply by being there. Annette was one of those people.

Warm, kind, funny and always ready for a chat, Annette had a wonderful way of making people feel welcome. Whether you were a regular runner, a first-timer, a walker or a fellow volunteer, you could always count on a friendly face and a conversation with her.

Even as her health began to decline, Annette’s determination to keep volunteering never faded. She insisted on being part of the team, and many of us will remember her sitting in her camp chair near the finish area, ready to greet everyone with her familiar warmth and unmistakable spirit.

That camp chair became more than just a place to sit. It was a little corner of parkrun where friendships were shared, stories were told, laughter came easily and everyone was made to feel part of something special.

Annette showed us that volunteering isn’t just about handing out finish tokens, scanning barcodes or helping an event run smoothly. It’s about people. It’s about kindness, connection and turning up for one another, even when life becomes difficult.

Her commitment, courage and love for our parkrun community will never be forgotten. The finish area won’t feel quite the same without her, and there will always be a space where we remember her sitting, chatting and making us smile.

Thank you, Annette, for every conversation, every laugh, every act of kindness and every Saturday morning you gave to our parkrun family.

You may no longer be sitting in your camp chair at the finish, but you will always have a place in our hearts.

Rest peacefully, Annette. You will be missed more than words can say, but your warmth, humour and wonderful spirit will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.

Once part of our parkrun family, always part of our parkrun family.

Hey eveyone!

Well it stayed dry for us this morning(mostly), but a rather soggy course today made those who achieved pbs even more impressive, well done!!🤩

Thanks to our incredible volunteers who made the event possible and to all those who have volunteered over the next couple of weeks. It was lovely to see so many come forward today to offer to help out, it really is so appreciated and makes our job as run directors so much easier, so thank you!🙏🫶

A wee heads up that Halloween falls on a Saturday (31st) this year and as usual we will be doing a themed fancy dress run! Get those costumes looked out, we cannot wait to see what you come up with!👻🧙‍♀️

***ROSTER FULL!***

Thank you to all the lovely volunteers (and run director team) for filling my volunteer roster this week!

With that said… how about we get ahead of the game and see if we can fill Joni’s roster for the following week… and even see if we can make Hazel’s, the week after, look a little healthier??

Well done to everyone who ran or walked at Eglinton parkrun today. Despite the squally weather, ten of you nabbed a PB 🌦️🎉

Emily Churchill and Fiona Howie ran their 200th parkrun and Susan Anderson ran her 25th - congratulations! 👏

A big welcome to all the first timers who joined us, as well as the visitors from Lochwinnoch, Paisley and Tollcross.

A massive thank you to the volunteers who made today's event go so smoothly! We have a couple of roles free on next week's volunteer roster, if you are free to help out, just drop a message/reply below...
