Loch Ness Marathon 2026
Absolutely buzzing to get that one ticked off.
A marathon has always been on the list, and now we’ve done it 🤝
First of all, I want to thank EVERY single person who generously donated to Alzheimer Scotland.
We’ve managed to raise over £1,000 so far, which is fu***ng incredible. It’s a condition that’s close to me and my family, and I know it affects so many others too.
Now for the debrief…
One of the biggest reasons I wanted to complete a marathon was to prove something to myself.
Ever since rupturing my Achilles 6 years ago, I’ve had persistent calf issues that, in all honesty, have impacted me more than I probably ever let on.
There were times I’d go for a run, or even when I was still playing football, and my calf would go after 500m.
Sometimes it was 3km. Sometimes 10km.
But it was back to square one, time and time again.
That feeling is something I think you only really understand if you’ve experienced injury.
It knocks your confidence.
And it takes a ridiculous amount of resilience to keep starting again.
So for me, this marathon was about proving to myself that I CAN do the long distances.
That I am resilient. That I can beat the little voice in my head that doubts me.
And that I’m not going to let setbacks stop me from doing the things I want to do.
This one was never really about a time.
It was about proving to myself that the work I’ve put in behind the scenes, the work that nobody sees, actually works.
And that no matter the setback, I’ll always come back stronger.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. It genuinely means everything.
P.S. Anyone who has completed a marathon is hard as nails in my opinion, it’s a completely different beast.
