Spateston Bowling Club 2026

Thanks to everyone who turned up for the mixed ballotted 2 bowl pairs today. We had 10 teams out on the green, 2 bowls is tricky but we witnessed some good games.

Winners on the day were
Christina Rooney and Hugh Burnfield
Runners up were
Josie Stevenson and Irene McLeod

Thanks to vice President Donna McMillan for taking control of the competition for us in the absence of Scott Vandal.

A wee reminder to be there for 1pm check in tomorrow, uniform to be worn and bring a wee raffle if possible.

This weekends competition. Just turn up in uniform ready to play and we’ll ballot the teams. It’s a good way to play with people you wouldn’t usually play with.

Date for the diary, 5 weeks to go until our annual ladies day. This years competition is sponsored again by our local Reach Pharmacy. Thanks again for continued support. Invitations will be going out this week to our friends at clubs around the district and beyond but any ladies wishing to come along can message us direct.

Another fabulous weekend at the club.

Started off with the Handicap final between George Gillan and Alistair Pratt….what a match we were treated to!!!
It was probably the best game of the season so far as a spectator. It was end to end ,neck and neck all the way until George managed to secure his first big title.

After the tournament we had our vodka/gin fun day. It was a blast from start to finish. The entertainment, the drinks and nibbles were enjoyed by everyone. A great atmosphere and many memories made.
Huge shout out to Brenda and her team of helpers on the day. Special mention to Pat McGinley who worked his wee socks off as per usual….and to Brenda McLaughlan who came in to work the bar into the evening….it was a busy tiring shift for all.
