Glasgow Junior Firebirds Ball Hockey Club

Connor had a great time playing for team Canada at the BHUK Junior Draft Tournament in Rotherham yesterday!

We want to provide an update regarding Firebirds 🔥🐦

Firstly we will be accomodating ages 4+, any ability/any gender!

We currently have multiple players interested which is fantastic! 🏒

We are currently in the process of getting Firebirds registered with the PVG scheme and will have multiple adult members registered under this scheme.

We currently have good relationship with Thorn Athletic sports academy and should be able to get a reasonable training time/day for a decent price. The hall is a great size for kids.

We are prepping emails to send out to local schools and junior hockey clubs. Please share this post and help is reach as many people as possible!

We have had contact with Dundee Ducks who have expressed interest in future games with Firebirds. They are also in the process of setting up a junior team so check them out if you're local to them!

Our current coaches have all been involved with Phoenix since our formation in August 2018 and we're previously with Glasgow Ruckus for a few years prior to that. We have all been involved in some way with the GB set up including junior and senior world championship appearances.

This club will grow together and we all have the unique opportunity to mould this team in a way we are all proud of.

If your child is looking to try a new sport, get fit, make some friends and have a blast the Firebirds are the place for you!

We accommodate all abilities aged 4-14 and provide a direct route into senior sport.

Ball hockey is a fantastic way to make new friends, gain confidence and stay fit.

There are GB opportunities for all ages and this is something we support (but not force) for all of our players.

All of our coaches are PVG checked and have all been involved in the GB set up and Glasgow Phoenix set up.

Here's our first ever Firebirds player, Connor Mundt, enjoying his first indoor session last night!

He trained under the watchful eye of Phoenix players Matt Mundt and Aimee Thorpe.

Connor will venture to Sheffield next weekend for the BHUK Junior Draft as the first ever Firebirds player to take part in game competition.

It’s been a week since we announced all our trial/training dates for our GB teams that will be taking part in the planned ISBHF events in 2022.

📣 Youth Ball Hockey Camp - Saturday 19th December 📣

On Saturday the 19th December, the BHUK South East Ball Hockey Conference are hosting a Youth Ball Hockey Camp, for ages 13-17, at Bordon Roller Rink (1330-1530).
