Kegworth Town Cricket Club

Kegworth Town Cricket Club Members of the Everards Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League and Leicestershire Youth League.

We have two Saturday League Teams - In 2024 our 1st XI will compete in Division 1 of the Leicestershire & Rutland League, with our 2nd XI playing in Division 4 West. Our thriving Junior section has teams at Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups. We are also an All Stars & Dynamos Cricket centre for boys and girls aged 5 to 11.

🌱 Celebrating our Kegworth Saplings! 🏏

What a fantastic season it has been for our junior section.

This video celebrates all our junior players, along with the individual award recipients from each age group. Every player has contributed to another brilliant year of junior cricket at Kegworth Town.

A huge thank you must go to our coaches, parents, club volunteers and grounds team. Your time, encouragement and hard work make junior cricket possible, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Club caps were also awarded to Ryan Newell and Josh RF after they recorded their maiden innings of 50 or more runs for the club, a fantastic achievement for both players.

It has also been brilliant to see so many of our Under 13 and Under 15 players taking their first steps into senior cricket through the Development Team. That pathway is incredibly important to the future of our club, and we are proud to see so many young players making the transition.

A special mention must also go to Stanley Simpson, whose 150 runs for the Under 13s made him the league’s highest run scorer.

Congratulations to every junior player who represented Kegworth Town this season. The future of the club is looking very bright.

Cricket is a team sport played by individuals, so personal milestones are celebrated just as much as team wins!

So congratulations to Scott Moore, who this weekend passed an amazing 5000 runs for Kegworth Town CC and becomes just the 7th player (since online records began in 2007) to pass this landmark! 🏏🌳🌳

Josh RF is just 15 years old, but already making his mark for Kegworth Town Cricket Club as a wicketkeeper and batsman.

And this year, he’s been named Junior of the Year! 🏆

The home fixture earlier in the season saw Kegworth take a 70 run win with 64 runs for Alex Fitchett and 5 wickets for Simon Glover.
