I am heart broken to inform everyone involved with FPA of sudden and sad passing of Bev Detoeuf - Head Coach and founding member of First Point Archery.
Bev died in the early hours of this morning and was surrounded by her sons.
Bev’s love of archery was well known to everyone how had the pleasure of knowing her and she has been a continued advocate for the sport ensuring new archers feel welcome, teaching beginners courses, coaching courses as well as coaching more experienced archers. She was passionate about getting people from underrepresented groups involved in the sport and passionate about young people as the future of the sport teaching them new skills and help coaching them including her grandson Reuben who you might have seen around with his little bow and arrows aged 3.

She will be sadly missed. 😢

We are really sorry.

As a result of the continuing Covid19 pandemic and the government guidelines on sport, First Point Archery are postponing the beginners courses due to run at the end of May and in June.

We are really sad, but health must come first. When circumstances allow, we will arrange further courses, hopefully sometime in the autumn. We need to ensure that everyone will continue to enjoy the sessions and have a great experience, and we will make any necessary adjustments to achieve this as soon as possible.

If you were due to take part in one of our courses in May and June, we will refund any course fees already paid and then be in touch as soon as we are able to offer new dates. If you were not booked on a course but would be interested in receiving more information when dates are available, please leave your details here and we will get in touch as soon as we can.

FPA regularly run beginners archery courses from January - November. These are usually run in series of 8 dates, from which a beginner needs to choose just four sessions to suit themselves. Details of our next courses will be advertised very soon.

Dates available: 30th, 31st May 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st June

First Point Archery - Beginners Courses The first place to begin if you want to take up Archery is a beginners course. This 12 hour course teaches you the basics. Once this course is completed it enables you to join any club in the UK.
