It was a hard-fought bonus point win for the U18s last night to get their league campaign off to an ideal start! Great to see a strong crowd at Poynder to cheer on the boys.

📝 | Quins Season Preview

The Kelso Harlequins U18s kick off their competitive season tonight with a Border Semi Junior League fixture against Peebles on Poynder Park (kick off 7:30pm), and so it is the perfect time to hear from the head coach, Murray Hastie, about how both youth teams performed throughout preseason.

“Pre-season has been a brilliant start for both Kelso Harlequins U16s and U18s, with really healthy training numbers and excellent commitment. The U18s enjoyed a great social day out at Border Padel Co. too, which really helped build team spirit."

"Both groups performed well at sevens tournaments in Gala and Peebles, with the U16s finishing runners-up at Gala and playing some great rugby against Dalkeith in a pre-season friendly."

"The U18s also enjoyed strong 15-a-side performances, including the Jock Todd Cup game against Jed and a tough test against Haddington & Dunbar. All coaches, players and management are looking forward to the 2026/27 season!”

The U18 league will be as competitive as ever this year, with the introduction of Musselburgh and North Berwick along with the usual Borders and Northumberland teams, so the Quins will need as much support from the club's supporters as possible!
