👀 Can you spot Ian's favourite part of our Better Health MOT?

If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the Q-Risk calculator on screen. It's one of Ian's favourite parts of the health check because it helps show your risk of developing cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years.

The calculator brings together lots of information, including:
❤️ Blood pressure
🩸 Cholesterol levels
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family history
📍 Your postcode
🎂 Age
🚭 Smoking status

When combined, these factors help build a picture of your heart health and can highlight opportunities to make small changes now that could have a big impact in the future.

Sometimes the numbers tell a reassuring story. Sometimes they provide the nudge needed to take action. Either way, knowing your risk is the first step towards improving it.

Since February, Danny and Danii have been the welcoming some of Kendal's locals to Fit for Futures, Kendal Leisure Centre's friendly Over 50s group. The group name was even chosen by the members themselves!

If you've been thinking about joining, now's the perfect time. No membership is needed and there's a choice of activities every Tuesday morning:

☀️🌈 Summer HAF Round-Up! 🌈☀️

What a fantastic summer we've had! Our young participants have been busy learning new skills, making friends and having lots of fun along the way at Penrith, Ulverston and Kendal Leisure Centres.

From 🚲 Wheels for All sessions, water safety activities, multisport games and first aid workshops, to crafts, fire safety, challenges and plenty more, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this year's Holiday Activities and Food programme such a success. Seeing so many smiles, growing confidence and new experiences made it all worthwhile.

Here's to an amazing summer and we can't wait to see you again soon! 💚

Did you know that high blood pressure often has no symptoms, but can increase your risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and dementia?

The good news is that a simple blood pressure check takes just a few minutes and could help you take control of your health.

🌟 Celebrating the wonderful Angela! 🌟

For an incredible 13 years, Angela has been bringing the magic of Rhythm Time to families at Kendal Leisure Centre - and what a legend she is! 🎶💜

Angela has become such a much-loved part of the local community, creating fun, laughter, music and precious memories for hundreds of little ones and their grown-ups along the way. From those first tiny shuffles and claps to confident singing, dancing and making music, Angela has been there every step of the way. 🥁🎵

13 years is an amazing achievement, and we honestly couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the title Kendal’s Rhythm Time legend! 👑

Thank you, Angela, for your energy, enthusiasm, kindness and all the joy you bring to every class. Here’s to all the wonderful memories you’ve created - and all the music still to come! ❤️
