Having a baby in 2021 I thought that was going to be a year that was difficult to beat.

2022 has been one hell of a rollercoaster!

Watching Charlie grow has of course been the highlight, not that I’m biased or anything… but he’s cool AF 💙

However, I realised that in the time I’ve been a mum as well as a Coach, I’ve neglected someone really important… myself.

It’s so easy when your role is to help others, in whatever sense that is, to forget to look after yourself.

So in 2023 I have made a decision to focus more on myself, because let’s face it, you can’t pour from an empty cup, right?

So things are changing in my life a little, but that’s ok. I’ll be training others less, and myself more. I’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to have more flexibility for my family, and I’m so grateful for that. So I’ll still be here, just with a different focus.

A wise lady once told me (my mum) it’ll all work out in the end, and if it doesn’t… then it’s not the end.

Happy New Year to you all 🥂

I saw this shared the other day, and thought how true.

Being in the wrong place, mentally or physically can cost you far too much.

Don’t put a price on your worth, you get one life, value it, whatever that looks like to you.

Achieve the goals.

Lose the weight.

Take the job.

Have the children.

Book the holiday.

Read the book.

It could be anything that brings that sense of worth, and ultimately happiness to your life. It’s personal, but it’s down to you to make it happen✌🏼

A weekend well spent!

I’d be lying if I said it was easy, or that I loved every minute 😂 it’s hard enough climbing Snowdon alone, let alone having to consider the needs of a little human! (3 leaky nappies were not in my plan 😑)

But…

Getting outdoors in the fresh air with my family. Can’t beat it! 🏔💙

Happiness starts with you.

When I first met Steve I wasn’t looking for a relationship.

I liked my own company, I loved my friends, my hobbies, and I certainly didn’t feel like anything was missing.

Then along came Steve, and he was in a similar place, and somehow.. (I really don’t know how).. the rest is history 😂

What I’m trying to say is that in order to be truly happy, you need to love yourself first.

Focus on you, and loving yourself.

Identify what makes you unhappy.

CHANGE IT.

If you need help with setting goals to unlock your happiness, DM me.

(And it doesn’t have to be fitness related because for most people, it’s a lot deeper than that)

Strength & Perseverance.

Two traits that showed a LOT of last week when she tackled HIFM, straight after SAS.

Really enjoying seeing the newest members of SISU finding their spirit and achieving things they never knew possible 🙌🏼

Super proud of client who has been smashing it!

Consistently attending sessions, even doing online 1:1 when away from home to get the work in.

Completing her home workouts regularly, and even roping her husband in too!

Still having a life, meals out with friends and family, work events, the usual social commitments.

10lb down!

Oozing way more confidence than before.

Loving her new strength 💪🏼

World Breastfeeding Week

I was so unsure if to post about this, as it’s actually a really sensitive topic for women, mothers.

But then this picture popped up from one year ago today, and I thought that’s a sign.

So here goes…

Firstly I don’t have any opinion on how you feed your baby, I just recommend that you do… or they cry, a lot.

Breastfeeding is not easy, it is a skill, if you want to have a stab at it, seek help. Read a book, do a course, speak to someone with experience.

(On the above note, my door is always open)

It’s not easy, it is totally worth it.

I’ve proudly fed my son for a year now and if I can help one other mum, then this post was worth it.

It’s great there is a week dedicated to raising awareness of the support available IF you want to breastfeed.

A fed baby, is a happy baby. A happy baby, is a happy mummy.

You do you mama 💖💙

Another week passed without a post.

Probably should’ve made this one a Reel to get engagement 🙄

How as parents are we supposed to keep up with bloody posts & algorithms on top of childcare, housework, cooking, running errands, working, walking the dog, training… the list goes on.

So… hit me with your top tips for being Mary Bloody Poppins and doing it all 😂

I’m serious, I want to hear how people make their lives that little bit easier when you’ve got 1 million things going on.

Stick it in the comments, you will not only help me out, but maybe other people too! 🤞🏼

6 WEEKS.

That’s the time before my holiday I realised I wasn’t comfortable in a single bikini.

Learning to love your body again after a baby is HARD.

But it’s not impossible.

I improved my diet.

I still ate cake, and pizza, but I improved from where I was before.

I trained around 3 times a week, realistically right now this is all I have time with juggling training and Charlie.

I walked a lot, hitting a step goal every day.

Am I exactly where I want to be?

No. But I went away A LOT more comfortable in those bikinis.

Be patient, and kind to yourself, it’s not an overnight fix. Especially when you are not your own main priority anymore.

Going in the gym and spending 5 mins on the rower??

Find an empty machine, few reps here??

Off to the next empty machine, few reps there??

5 mins on the bike??

Sod it… into the sauna 🧖‍♀️

Grab a shake on the way out.

Sound like you?

Maybe you’re lacking direction, not sure what you need to do to achieve the results you want?

You don’t have to be a member at SISU to get a programme from an experienced coach.

Talking to a friend the other day, and we were saying how there’s lots of things we know now that we wish we knew then!

How the body we had and used to moan about at 23 is the one we might love to look like now!

How we took for granted the ease of our lives before we had children!

How you pray to finish your education and be a grown up, only to realise being a grown up is a cycle of paying bills and washing up 😂

How we should’ve worn SPF daily, all seasons!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

What’s one thing todays version of you would give your 18 year old self the heads up on?!
