We hope you are looking forward to your first swimming lesson as much as we are!

The main changes for this term are as follows:

1. Changing rooms will now be open for swimmers to get ready before and after the session. If you can arrive at the pool โ€˜Beach Readyโ€™ this will help to reduce the number of people in the changing rooms. The children have shown that they can get changed on their own without parents helping so we would not encourage parents in the changing rooms to also help keep the number of people in a small space to a minimum.
(Beach Ready: Turn up in swimming costume, shower before leaving at home and depart in dry robe/dressing gown/onesie.)

2. You will be required to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your allocated time frame. If you arrive early, please remain in your vehicle until the designated lesson time.

3. Swimmers will enter and exit the building through the changing rooms as per pre-COVID. Swimmers will meet their parents outside the changing rooms at the end of the lesson. Please limit your time in this area and be as prompt as possible when leaving.

A great article from the Institute of Swimming about one of our teachers Henry - well done Henry!

โ€œI really enjoyed completing the courses and now working as a swim teacher would highly recommend it to anybody thinking of becoming more involved with the world of swimming teaching.โ€

Henry, an active club swimmer, discovered a different part of the swimming community by starting his swimming teacher training with the Institute of Swimming.

Itโ€™s so important to learn how to Swim.

The time away from swimming lessons has already led to at least 50,000 fewer children being able to perform a safe self-rescueโ€ผ๏ธ

๐ŸŒŠ With holidays likely to be by the coast this summer, this raises real safety concerns.

We still have space in our May half term intensive week - message us for more info and the booking link!

Two million youngsters missed out on swimming during pandemic 05/05/2021

New data released by Swim England has revealed the impact lockdown has had on swimming lessons:

โ€ข More than 2 million children have missed out on swimming as a result of the pandemic โ€“ resulting in almost a quarter of a million additional children being unable to swim 25 metres

โ€ข More than 5 million childrenโ€™s swimming lessons were lost in the past 12 months

โ€ข With holidays likely to be near the coast this year there is a very real safety concern for children who have had a prolonged absence from learning to swim

We are so lucky to have our lessons back up and running so we can help as many children learn how to swim ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
