Wisbech tournament
What a brilliant day for the Glads so happy with them
2 teams reaching the final 4 out of 28 sides,
Unfortunately both teams had to play each other in the Semi final which is never ideal but at the same time it meant a gladiators finalist
The semi went to Pens with the glads reds winning after it ending up going back round the team again as it couldnβt even be separated the first time around
The boys left in the comp got the job done after losing the lead then trailing, the showed great character to get the win with Arlie grabbing the winner with a minute left !! Really chuffed for them all, and we showed what a great squad we are with out the lads knocked out stayed and cheered as well as celebrating with them
Well done to every single one of you

πMawsley Thundercats U13 Girlsπ
And so, our season comes to a close β and what a season it has been.
These girls have given absolutely everything.
With two fixtures remaining, both against GLK, the equation was simple: two wins would see the Thundercats crowned league champions by the finest of margins.
On Thursday evening, the girls took the first step with a superb 4-0 victory in a fiercely competitive match, setting up what would become one of the most memorable days of their footballing journey.
Having lost both cup finals to GLK, it all came down to this. Every training session, every match, every sacrifice off the pitch, and every moment of hard work throughout the season led to one final 70-minute battle.
The girls looked calm, focused, and ready. The game started at a frantic pace, with both sides battling hard in midfield and the nerves visible for all to see.
The Thundercats created several early chances, but GLK remained a constant threat on the counterattack.
Mawsley eventually broke the deadlock, only for GLK to respond with an equaliser shortly after.
From that moment on, the girls found another gear. Brilliant passing football created space in the final third, and once the second goal went in, there was a sense that they were ready to finish the job.
The score moved from 2-1 to 3-1, but GLK continued to pose a real danger through their attacking players.
Then came the moment the girls had worked so hard for.
4-1. Then 5-1. And finally, the sixth goal found the net.
At that moment, the Thundercats were crowned Division 1 Champions.
These girls deserve every bit of success that has come their way. Their commitment, resilience, and teamwork have been incredible all season long.
What a celebration it was, and we canβt wait to see what the next chapter brings.

Roade 4 - 0 Mawsley Hornets
Today we travelled to Roade for our final game of the season. After a hot week the weather showed no sign of letting up and playing in the heat meant it was going to be a challenge today.
The girls started very strongly and were equal to Roade in the challenge and the press. They showed real desire and belief throughout the game. Showing their ability to play great football, linking up excellent passes and testing the defence.
Roade took their chances well and scored some good goals, undeterred by this and credit to Beth in goal as her mindset is admirable, as sheβs able to still knuckle down and put her body on the line for the team no matter what making crucial saves again and again.
Unfortunately it wasnβt the result we wanted to end the season on, but against strong opponents the girls never gave up and always battled until the final whistle. Lots of positives to take from todayβs game and the girls should be proud of their efforts, not only today but across the whole season.
Player of the match today was Roxie. Her grit and determination to win the ball in midfield, skillfully take players on and thread ball after ball into the strikers was outstanding today. She read the game superbly and was back fighting with the defence to make sure the scoreline stayed where it was.

Delapre Dragons vs Mawsley Pumas
Sat 30th May
Apologies from the off....it's a long one....sorry 'bout that.
*Pumas Last Dance π*
Pumas visited Delapre this morning for what was their final ever match together. On a very warm morning, Pumas started the more brightly and for the first half looked the dominant side and more likely to score. The football on display was neat, tidy and creative, with every girl showing their best for the cause. Despite their efforts Pumas were unable to land a telling blow and went in all square at the break.
HT 0-0
The heat continued to rise in the second half and as the match went on it became a battle for both teams. Continuing to rotate the subs through the match to keep fresh legs out there, it led to a drop in performance, and as energy levels dropped Delapre grabbed a couple of goals as they had the better of the second half, and Pumas could not find a way back into it.
FT 3-0
Not the result we wanted to end with today and it has been a really difficult few months for the girls following solid displays before Christmas. However, for Pumas it isn't and and never has been about the winning. This is a group of girls who have bonded incredibly since the Pumas / Panthers merger over 5 seasons ago, and although today's outcome typified the second half of the Pumas season, it also demonstrated their development, their ability when the confidence and belief is there, and their unbelievable camaraderie. The girls all played some of their best football in that first half today, and we couldn't have been prouder to see them doing their thing in blistering heat cheered on by an incredible fanbase that have constantly backed the girls over the years. It's been an absolute honour to represent Mawsley with these girls under the Pumas banner and have no doubt, having seen them all become brilliant young adults, leaving us with lasting memories and endless laughter, that whatever comes next for them they will undoubtedly conquer it πͺπΌ
Today's Squad:
Summer (GK) - Going out on a high, this was Summer's best performance since joining us in January. On a dry hard pitch, Summer came out to clear her line fantastically, distributed brilliantly and made a couple great blocks to deny goals.
Kaela (RB/LB) - Reliable in both fullback positions, the best I've seen her clear her lines today, and as always ridiculous pace to sweep and cover any threat down the flanks.
Matilda (LB/DM) - Matilda being Matilda today, a true leader, ferocious in the tackle and vocally. Typical tenacious performance, annoying the opposition, and a wonderful shout of 'MEGS!!!', not for the first, or second, or third time this season.
Scarlet (CB) - Calmness personified at the back, and the first 20 minutes today especially showed incredible vision and touch to play out from the back with good short and long range, and immediate clearances when needed.
Ruby (CB) - Sweeping up at the back with no nonsense. Physical strong presence and long sensible clearances as good as we've seen from her shepherding threats away from goal.
Connie (CM/ST) - An absolute engine and has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons. Continued to demonstrate it today, ball winning, running with the ball and an unbelievable all round hunger.
Lily (CM) - Hope Lily recognises how well she played today. Another bundle of energy and has now started to use her vision and first touch to open up play. Constantly improving and as today showed as that calmness and technique on the ball continues to improve, Lily will become a great player.
Jess (CM) - Came off the bench today with a plan to keep the energy high in midfield and her first few phases of play set the tone for her performance today. Jess has seen a spike in confidence this season making her a more rounded midfielder and showed that all off today with her ability to pick the ball up and run with it, and to also change the direction of play with smooth turns. Another whose development continues to be on a massive upturn and has performances like today to bring it into action.
Charlotte (LW) - Another top game, better footwork than I could ever dream of and another who has been leading by example. Played a full 90 in todays heat, didn't stop running, didn't stop beating her player and a continual threat on the ball.
Issy (RW/RB) - Was immediately involved today and a constant thorn in the side down our right flank. Slotted into a newer RB role and again showed her abilities on the ball bringing it out from deep with a mix of runs and diagonal balls.
Paige (CM) - Found really good space today and allowed Paige to work to the best of her skillset, being able to coax space in behind defenders to lay the ball in to for Pumas wingers and forwards. Worked hard despite the heat and some great first touches to set moves off, especially in the first half.
Pippa (ST/RB) - Run the front line excellently in the first half, escaping in behind a couple of times before having a chance on goal second half that she couldn't quite connect with under pressure. Applied a good press at the right times to force errors and bring others into play high up the field.
Ella (RW) - Without a doubt, that first half was the best performance I have seen Ella have for Pumas. Ran her backside off from the minute she got on the pitch, good first touches allowing her to dribble inside and down the flank against opponents, showed good composure to play the right pass, and then tracked back endlessly to make blocks and tackles.
Lucy (CB) - A 10 min cameo at the end for Lucy who joined the rugby pathway earlier this season. Has continued to support us and was great to see her back in the yellow and black today. Slotted straight back in and showed immediately why we have missed her pace, strength and athleticism.
Isla (non-playing sub) - Having lost Isla for the remainder of the season to an ankle injury a few matches previous, Isla has been with us on the sidelines supporting since and again today. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery ππ»
India (non-playing sub) - Dropped out from football at Christmas, but is the reason I got dragged into all off this. Was great to see her back today if only in a viewing capacity with her team-mates.
Thank you's:
It's been an immense pleasure to represent Mawsley and moreso get to know and watch all of the Pumas who have come and gone, and now move on to new pastures. So first thanks must go to all Pumas/Panthers past and present who have made the last 7 years as parent, helper and coach so enjoyable. We've played hard but laughed harder and it shouldn't be any other way. ππ€
Also, thanks to all the parents for their support and belief in us, allowing us to do our thing.
Thanks to Rob for supporting Leavan and I iver the last few seasons, and letting the girls bully you rather than us.
Tom and all the others who have tried their best waving that little flag up and down the touchline, while yelling 'offside ref' π©
Adrian and Dave for their recent sponsorships - Pumas thank you! ππ»
To those who donated, and supported with 'Pumas Pantry' allowing the girls to never go wanting, buying us gazebos, seats etc.. and keeping me stocked up on bacon rolls and sweets ππ»
To all of those behind the scenes at Mawsley making it such a great club to be invested in. Adam K, Andy B, Sam, Maisie, Ben, Zac, James, the list goes on and on, so sorry if missing people out but everyone has been there to help us on the way and without you would not have been possible. (Special thanks to Adam K for giving us the opportunity at this age group this season, and taking the time to speak to the girls at their final training last Monday).ππ»
Finally, Leavan. We've co-coached for the last 5 years, kept each other sane, but still never agreed on a coaches player of the season award. Maybe this is the year. It's been an amazing ride and been a thorough pleasure to go through it with you, Scarlett and Elias. ππ€
Speaking on behalf of Leavan and I, for those whose kids are looking for a club, then I would always recommend to give Mawsley a try. For those parents with kids at a club who possibly may be interested in coaching then Mawsley may also be the place for you too. I came in to this 7 years ago as a parent watching my daughter play in a great environment, and never had any thoughts previously on coaching, but I get to leave having tried to help India and her mates develop not only their football skills, but their friendships and skills for life. I have loved (nearly) every minute of it.
For the final time......
Go Pumas! π ππ€ππ€

Mawsley Bobcats vs Harpole FC
Saturday 23rd May 2026 - 9.30am Kick Off
League Match
We travelled over to Harpole for our final game of the season, in glorious sunshine and thankful for an earlier kick off so we got the game done before the real heat arrived!
Another week and another fast start for the Bobcats, within just 4 mins last weeks player of the matches linked up to great effect! A fantastic through ball from Gracie H was hunted down by Lils who did well to hold off the defender and slot past the keeper with her left foot! For the next 15mins it was mostly Bobcats with Harpole getting only one opportunity after a mistake at the back, hitting their shot against the bar. Unfortunately the much needed drinks break for the girls came as Harpole had the ball near our corner flag for a throw-in. They caught us cold straight after the break with a long throw that we didn't deal with properly, resulting in a close range shot that gave Legit no chance. This was a turning point that gave Harpole confidence in the match and it became a much more even game. 5mins before the half our achilles heel re-appeared and we were undone by a huge GK kick from hands that bounced awkwardly in front of our GK and ultimately went in. HT 1-2
Both teams were definitely struggling in the second half as the heat ramped up but chances were still being created at both ends of the pitch. Harpole had a couple of efforts go just wide and were unlucky that a slick one touch passing move from three of their players was blocked by the stern Bobcats defence. Bobcats meanwhile had a couple of balls flashed across the area from the right wing and numerous attempted through balls. In the end the match finished in Harpole's favour but in truth a draw or maybe even a win for the Bobcats would all have been fair results on the balance of it. Still Harpole were good value for their win having made very few mistakes and taking advantage of two of the three mistakes we made. We would like to congratulate Martyn and his girls on their great season!
FT 1-2.

Legit π - Every day is a school day and she's learnt a harsh lesson today. Aside from that she was immaculate as always, commanding her area, alert to through balls and showing sure hands for the shots that came her way!
Mia π - A strong game, getting stuck into tackles and playing clever forward passes, as well as clearing the ball neatly when needed.
Aubree π - Went through the wars today, ending up on the floor a few times, although only once unfairly. She showed off her excellent reading of the game, soldiered on despite the knocks she took and was a rock at the back. It's no coincidence that both goals we conceded were when she was off the pitch.
Mollie π - Worked so hard throughout the game and is improving so fast. Today she learnt a key lesson from a mistake and thankfully got away with it! As she moves next season into a centerback partnership with Aubree we are so excited to see how solid our defence will become!
Jessie π - Showed great skill and composure again this week but struggled on the small pitch to find space enough to work in. Regardless though she kept going and was our midfield metronome!
Charlotte π- Another good game full of strong tackling and clearances. This girl is full of potential and we look forward to seeing how she develops as a player over the summer.
Isabelle π- Showed improved strength again today at times and made run after run, including putting a couple of fantastic crosses in.
Lils (Cpt) πβ½- Battled hard, worked tirelessly, always looked to link up with her teammates and make runs or through balls. Above all though, today showed just how far she's come at recognising the offside trap and timing her forward runs to perfection.
Gracie H ππ«±π»βπ«²π» - Worked so hard down the wing, shielding the ball, using her pace and playing a beautiful through ball for our goal.
Scarlett π - Immense effort today, covering so much ground, using her body well and trying to make things happen for herself and others around her.
GiGi π - A solid effort today with the highlight being a cheeky touch round the corner that switched defence to attack in an instant.
Eden π- Celebrated her 50th appearance by being a bundle of energy as always, showed off her ability to pass round the corner with either foot today and barely stopped moving when on the pitch. Since coming back to the team this season she hasn't looked back. She's a kind, selfless player and we're delighted to have her back in the Bobcats!
Freya π- Made some strong tackles and was persistent in trying to win possession. Showed off no-nonsense defending, especially when in her favoured full back position.
Tori π- Reads the game so well and has perfected arriving with perfectly timed crunching tackles or even taking the ball off the feet of the waiting attackers. Is still one of the best in the team at dealing with high balls.
