🔵 Match Report

On Thursday 18th June the U11’s Blues took on Loddington in the Chairman’s Plate quarterfinal. The first pair of Lilly and Aisha went out and attacked the batting, taking every opportunity to get a run in. There was excellent calling between them, this calling between pairs continued throughout the rest of the pairs. This resulted in very respectable 278 at the close of the innings. Amaya, Inaya, Aisha all getting 4’s and Olivia getting two 4’s.

Not sitting on their laurels they knew they still had to keep the bowling tight in Loddington’s innings. Elijah took the first wicket in the opening over. This was quickly followed by Lilly, Nicky and Inaya taking two wickets each in the following overs. Alice and Amaya also took a wicket. Inaya got what I think was her first maiden and also took a catch out in the field, which is why she was my player of the match.

But tonight the Blues played as a team encouraging each other and it was wonderful to see.

Brilliant win for the U11 Whites on Sunday!!! Captain Maha won the toss and elected to field. Everyone played well with Jacob the pick of the bowlers taking 2 for 3 runs. Wickets also for Isaac, Stanley and Ezra. Excellent fielding from the whole team also brought 4 run outs from Stan and Ez behind the stumps.

The batters played very smart cricket with Isaac and Jacob getting us off to a cracking start. Jonathon and Razan playing lovely shots in the middle overs and Maha and Ava-Mae, both having their best games of the season, really protecting their wicket. Ezra top scored late on and Stanley defended well to see out the game.

A great game of cricket against Barton Seagrave on Monday as our Under 13s Blues came out winners, with 3 of our batters retiring on 30+ (Max, Owen and Lizzie)! 🔥

A game played in the right way 🏏

It was a great cricketing weekend for young guns Lizzie Turner and Arthur Watts! 🏏

On Saturday Lizzie made her debut for Kettering Town CC 5s in the NCL. Lizzie (pictured with her dad Olli Turner) took 4 wickets in the game vs Geddington 4s, 3 bowled and 1 caught. Left handed bowler Arthur took 2 wickets and bagged himself a run out with a direct hit when fielding at midwicket(ish) off of Lizzie's bowling. It really was a day for the youngsters 💪🏼

Geddington put a good score on the board but rain prevented Kettering 5s going out to bat to try and chase the runs down ☔️

On Sunday Lizzie then represented Northants U13's girls vs Oxfordshire U13's girls in two T20 matches. The game was played at a lovely ground, the home of Great & Little Tew Cricket Club. Northants were victorious in both matches 👏🏼
