Two very important facts.

1. We have never seen Sensei Aidan and the Easter Bunny in the same room at the same time.
2. Sensei Aidan was away last weekend, and no one knows where he went.

🐰🥚❓

The important thing is, he’s back now! Few pics from tonight’s class, reverse punches from our Cadet class, and Tekki Shodan from our higher grade class!

Seishin Karate is proud to announce that we have just taken delivery of 4 AI based class assistants. The “Sensei Ed” units will be distributed to each of our clubs, with the 4th going to Sensei Aidan’s house because he is, and I quote, “fed up of doing his own washing”.

The units will be in classes going forward to help make corrections, facilitate games, and also shoot any criminals who refuse to comply within 15 seconds.

Say hello to Sensei Ed when you see him in class!

Oss everyone! To allow our students, volunteers, and instructors to enjoy the Easter weekend break with their families, we will be closed this weekend across all of our clubs. So there will be no classes at Kettering dojo on Sunday the 5th of April. No other classes are changed, just that one! 🙂

Where we've remained open in previous years, attendance is incredibly low. If students want to make up the lesson count, remember we always allow students to attend our other clubs, for free, regardless of how many lessons they've done at Kettering dojo!

We always love when a student bring in treats for the class to celebrate their birthday 🎂 ❤️

But it’s really special when they’re karate themed like these karate gingerbread cookies! 🍪🥋

Not the first front kick I’ve eaten this week, but definitely the most enjoyable! 🥳 🙇🏻

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums in our Seishin family - whether you're on the mats yourself, cheering from the sidelines, or driving to and from the dojo week after week! Your love and dedication doesn't go unnoticed, and we're so grateful for everything you do.

We also want to gently acknowledge that today can be a difficult day for many, for those who have lost their mum, those whose relationships are complicated, or those longing to be mothers. You are seen, and you are not alone. Wishing everyone in our community a day of kindness. 🥋🩷

Oss everyone! Just a gentle reminder that we're open as usual during the half term holidays. We *know* classes will be quieter, so come along and make some progress towards your next promotion while it's less busy! See you in the dojo! 💪🏻🥋

After the Karate Cadet’s class, and after the lower Kyu grade class, the higher grades stay on and do another hour of training!

So if you’ve ever wondered what they’re up to as you’re leaving, the answer is “even more training” 😁

Tonight we covered fundamentals and pad drills in the higher grade class, for 6th Kyu through to 3rd Kyu students! 💪🏻🥋

Well done everyone! 🙇🏻

Aaaaand we’re back! 2026 is officially underway!

Well done to everyone who trained this evening, a solid effort all round. And welcome to our 4 new students who joined us this evening! 💪🏻🙇🏻🥋

Oss everyone, we hope you’re all having a happy new year! 🥂

As we get ready to kick off this years classes on Tuesday the 6th of January, we want to share this years focus for our club. 🧘🏻‍♂️

We’ll be concentrating on consistency throughout 2026, following our motto for the year, 継続は力なり (keizoku wa chikara nari) - consistency is power.

The idea behind that is that small, continual improvement is the key to Karate (and most things in life!).

We’ll be having regular check ins with students about attendance and consistency, to help them get the most from their Karate. 🥋

On top of this, we’re inviting students to share their goals and plans from outside the dojo for 2026 with us, and we’ll have regular catch ups to ensure consistency and accountability on those goals! 💪🏻

We’ve got some plans for 2026 to share throughout the year, so make sure you’re in our WhatsApp Community if you’re a student or parent at the club! Over the next few days we’ll be sharing things we can all do to help make our experiences at training more consistent for 2026. See you in the dojo soon! 🙇🏻🥋

Aaaand that’s a wrap on 2025!!

Thanks to everyone who came to see the year out with us this morning! We’ll share some more photos from class over the next few weeks.

Special thanks to Simon/Santa for joining us for the most energetic “Santa says” you’ve ever played, and for judging our snowman building competition!

From all of us at Seishin, have a fantastic Christmas, and a very happy new year. 🎅🏻🎉🥂
