Venturas u15 v SYL u15

Despite going into today’s game as big underdogs against higher league opponents, Thrapston took an early lead when Callum smashed a free kick into the top corner from at least 35 yards.

Junior produced a couple of excellent saves to keep the score 1-0, but unfortunately one save resulted in an injury, which meant Bailey had to take over in goal and of course meant we missed his presence upfront.

The score remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when the oppositions pressure finally told and they equalised.

Two further goals late on meant the score finished 3-1 to a much relieved opposition who certainly knew they had been in a game.

Lots of praise for all the boys this week they are continuing to improve as a team and the spirit shown is excellent.

Everyone put in a good shift with Tyler and Callum battling away in midfield. I feel that man of the match goes to AJ 🏆 who continues to improve put in some really good challenges and was not afraid to push forward.

Under 14’s were in county cup second round action away to Netherton United today. On a warm sunny morning on a pristine 3G pitch we made a nervy start with our opponents looking dangerous whenever they attacked and despite some decent counter attacks we found ourselves 3-0 behind. We did grab a lifeline just before half time when a long ball played in behind by Osian saw Ben grab one back.

The 2nd half started in the worst possible fashion as we conceded a 4th and the game seemed up.

However that was the catalyst for the most amazing of come backs. Jack T added our 2nd, Ben scored again and shortly after Morris got in on the act to level things up. Things then got even better when Fletcher curled a fabulous free kick into the top corner to astonishingly give us the lead.

There wasn’t long left but Netherton came back and were awarded a penalty to level it up at 5-5. We went straight back up the other end though and took the lead again with Ben completing his hat-trick.

Agonisingly though with seconds left Netherton grabbed another equaliser and an enthralling game ended 6-6.

Straight into a penalty shoot-out and it wasn’t to be. Barney made 2 decent saves but we only managed 1 of our 4 pens and we ended up losing 3-1.

A monumental effort though to come back from an impossible position and parents and coaches could not have been prouder of the team today.

Impossible to pick an outright player of the match today so the only thing to do was to give it to them all for a superb overall team effort.

A fantastic, closely contested match between Thrapston Venturas U8 and Rushden & Diamonds Whites U8, with both teams showing incredible energy and determination, running tirelessly from start to finish. It was an exciting end-to-end encounter that could have gone either way, with some brilliant saves at both ends keeping everyone on their toes! Both teams battled hard, showing great teamwork and resilience, with the match ending in a well-deserved shared victory. A huge well done to Lucas 🏆, who earned Player of the Match for his outstanding goalkeeping and some crucial saves.

A really positive and exciting game from the girls! 💪⚽️

It was a close match from start to finish, with every single one of them showing great determination, fighting for each other and never giving up.

What the girls need to remember is that we played against a team made up entirely of U9s, while our squad consists of U7s, U8s and U9s. The scoreline shows just how strong they are as a team, and that is what’s important.

The girls were strong in their challenges, worked incredibly hard as a team and scored some fantastic goals. There was so much effort, commitment and togetherness on show today.

A brilliant team performance with lots of positives to take forward. You should all be really proud of yourselves today! 👏❤️

🏆 Player of the Match: Grace

On your first league appearance of the season, you showed great energy and determination to win the ball back and drive the team forward. A fantastic performance — well done, Grace! 👏⚽️

Our u11s Venturas were in action today against Desborough Town Spartans.

Both teams gave it their all with standout performances coming from Frank who’s been our most consistent player so far this season and also Braden 🏆 who picked up POTM for a top battling performance in centre mid.

We also had the opportunity to play our first game in our new away kit, sponsored by Headshot Company. The kids loved it and I’m sure you’ll agree it’s a great looking shirt.

A massive Thankyou to Donna and James at Headshot from the players and coaches and TVFC U11s

Wow… what a performance! ⚽️💙

I’m genuinely struggling to put into words how impressed and proud I am of every single one of you.

You all carried the hard work and confidence from training straight into the game. From the defenders putting their bodies on the line to the attackers working tirelessly up front, every one of the girls gave absolutely everything.

We came up against a team that wanted to make it physical with plenty of pushing and shoving, but you never let it affect you. You stood strong, battled for each other, and most importantly, you never gave up.

So proud of you all—keep believing in yourselves. 💪💙

Player of the Match: Phoebe 🏆💙

What a performance! You were an absolute rock in both defence and midfield. From the first whistle to the last, you never gave up and gave everything for the team.

Your determination, strong tackles, and all-round performance were outstanding. You were fearless, worked so hard, and made such a big difference.

You absolutely smashed it—well deserved! 👏💙

Thrapston’s U15s good start to the season continued with an excellent win against a very useful Sharnbrook outfit.

After a very even opening 20 mins, Thrapston took the lead when Max chased down a long ball down the left wing, got a good block, for the ball to break to Tyler, who calmly finished.

One-nil at half time quickly became 2 as Tyler’s cross shot was hammered by Max at the far post.

The next goal was always going to be crucial and it came our way when some neat passing in the midfield resulted in another good finish from Tyler.

Both teams continued to play good football and Sharnbrook got a consolation goal late on when a cross was unluckily deflected to give the final score of 3–1, which was probably a fair reflection of a very good game – played in an excellent spirit, and was well refereed by an up-and-coming official!!

Man of the match was another hard one as there were a number of very good performances, but Tyler 🏆 was at the heart of everything today so it goes to him.

Well done lads – keep up the good work!!!
