Strangford Lough Yacht Club is situated in Whiterock Bay in Killinchy, between Comber and Killyleagh. It is in an area of outstanding beauty and on the finest sailing waters in Ireland. We promote sailing and enjoy all the social activities that can be associated with it. Members are keen to enjoy and promote racing and cruising on Strangford Lough and throughout Ireland and the world. Strangford Lough Yacht Club host a variety of dinghies and keelboats which race competitvely during the sailing season. These include Rivers, Glens, Clippers, Flying Fifteens, Sonatas, Cruisers and a large dinghy fleet. We run several sailing courses in summertime and the Junior Sailing on Sunday mornings is very popular.

Lovely evening for the last Fun Friday racing and Junior prize giving on Friday night. It has been great to see so many young sailors out each Friday night and to so much progress has been made over the past few months! Many of our young sailors are out today defending the Strangford Lough Youth Series shield at KYC so 🤞they all have a great days racing!

This year’s regatta will take place on Saturday 22nd August.

Model Boat racing is at 10am, the main racing classes are from 1pm (full sailing instructions can be found here https://slyc.co.uk/slyc-regatta-2026/ )

Regatta tea from approximately 3pm, followed by the prize giving.

In the evening there will be a BBQ, items for the BBQ need to be ordered from Corries in advance here https://slyc.co.uk/slyc-regatta-2026/. You can then collect your order at the club on regatta day.
