Beattie Cup 2026 🏅⛵

Today saw the final event of the season for our junior sailors, with two great races to round off the year.

A big thank you to Race Officer Scott Rodgers and his team for running two fantastic races.

Anna Fitzpatrick was the worthy winner of this year’s Beattie Cup, going unbeaten with two first-place finishes! ⛵🏆

A huge congratulations to Team KYC, who are the Strangford Lough Youth Series 2026 Champions! 🎉🏆

It’s been seven years since the Shield was last back at KYC, and this marks our third overall victory since 2018. What an achievement! 👏

A massive well done to all our sailors across the Topper and Laser fleets, who produced some brilliant results throughout the series. ⛵️👏

With just 3 points separating the teams in the final overall results, KYC put in an outstanding performance today, with some excellent individual results helping secure the championship. 💪🔥

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who helps make this event happen; organisers, volunteers, race officials, parents, supporters and, of course, all the sailors. Your hard work and dedication make it possible.

Join us on Saturday 29th August for a fantastic day of racing, with two races scheduled.

🏁 First start: 13:00hrs

Racing will be held across the following classes:

⛵ Class 1: YTC 1 (below 975)
⛵ Class 2: YTC Restricted Sail 1 (below 1035)
⛵ Class 3: YTC 2 (975 and above)
⛵ Class 4: YTC Restricted Sail 2 (1035 and above)
⛵ Class 5: Squib
⛵ Class 6: Flying Fifteen

🎸 Live music after racing by Harry Rice 6pm- 8pm
