⚽️ Pre pre-season Ep 3 ⚽️
After a weeks holiday in Tenerife it was time to get back into training, probably the hardest session yet due to the holiday. With pre-season only 2 weeks away it’s time to kick on and get in the best possible shape come training.
Session breakdown:
Pyramid sprints
- work from 1-3 then 3-1
- Sprint both sides of the pyramid and walk at the base for recovery
- Sprints become longer the higher up the pyramid you go
- 1-3 then 3-1 = 1 set
- Minute rest between sets
- 4 sets total
Lateral movements
- working on change of direction while sprinting
- 5 reps = 1 set
- 2 sets on each side
Positional work
- as a full back being able to play forward is crucial to getting your team up the park
- Being confident to take the ball on the half turn in tight areas and pick your pass is key
- Working on different passes to different areas where teammates would be
Shooting
- 3 different areas of the park to shoot from
- Working on shooting off of both feet
- Looking to find the corners as often as possible
Another good session under my belt, in a really good place with the training just now. Drastic change in my weight and eating habits since I started doing pitch sessions, a great step in the right direction although this is only the beginning 🫡⚽️

Massive well done to our client Harry and the rest of his team on their cup win at the weekend, a great game to get down and watch and even better seeing his team lift the cup. Well deserved for the young lad with the hard work he puts into his training week in week out. Keep it up mate ⚽️⚽️!!!
⚽️ Pre Pre-season session 1 ⚽️
Fitness work
Sideline runs:
* walk into 18 yard line then 75% to sideline
* Turn and repeat the other way
* 8 runs = 1 set
* 3 total sets
Zig zag:
* dribble down the zig zag using both feet to the last cone
* Stop the ball and sprint back to your start cone back through the zig zag
* Up and down is 1 rep
* 4 reps = 1 set
* 3 sets total
Crossing + recovery
* 1-2 with the board and drive towards the second gate
* Put different types of crosses into box (game like)
* Recovery sprint back to first gate
* 5 crosses = 1 set
* 3 sets total
Finished the session off with shooting from different areas of the pitch, not bad for a full back 👀👀
Good first proper session under my belt, with a team lined up to join for pre-season so time to knuckle down and get grafting 🫵🏻

⚽️ RETURN TO FOOTBALL ⚽️
Alright team, thought I’d bring yous along as I start my journey to my return to football. I’ve been out of football around a year and a half after playing semi-pro. The reasoning for this was down to a poor lifestyle which left me overweight and unfit.
Now it’s time for a change, after months of sitting on the fence about whether I should have another crack at it, it’s time to get the cobwebs off the boots and get back playing. After weeks in the gym building the foundations it was time for my first Pre Pre-Season sessions (highlights to come 👀).
I’m looking for current players who are playing junior football to join me on a session and chat about what it takes them to stay fit and properly prepared all season to achieve their optimal performance on a Saturday and let the younger generation see what it takes to get to that level 🫵🏻.
