Mother’s Day Can Be Hard – And That’s Okay.

As Mother’s Day approaches, it can bring up many different emotions.

For some, it’s a day of celebration and connection.
But for others, it can be a painful reminder of someone deeply missed.

You may be grieving a mum who is no longer here.💛
You may have lost a child.💛
You may have a complicated relationship with your mother.💛
You may long to be a mother yourself.💛

Grief doesn’t follow a timetable, and days like this can gently — or sometimes suddenly — reopen tender places in the heart.

If Mother’s Day feels difficult for you this year, please know:

💛 You are not alone
💛 Your feelings are valid
💛 It’s okay to step back from celebrations if you need to
💛 It’s okay to honour the day in your own way

Sometimes that might look like lighting a candle, taking a quiet walk, looking through old photos, or simply allowing yourself space to feel.

Grief is not something to “get over”.
It is something we learn to carry with compassion for ourselves.

If this time of year feels particularly heavy, gentle support such as relaxation, mindfulness, or hypnotherapy/meditation can help create space to process emotions and find moments of calm.
