Delighted to announce both Aidan Sarwar and Erin Hargreaves have been accepted onto the Boxing Scotland Future Generation and Boxing Scotland Next Generation Groups respectively.

A great achievement and acknowledgment of the hard work they both put in at Northwest.

Great to have Aaron Sarwar back in the gym tonight, proudly showing his club mates the European Championship Bronze Medal he won in Serbia last week. 🥉🇷🇸

Aaron had a great tournament winning three bouts against top opposition from Poland, England and Ukraine. Forcing 2 standing counts and a stoppage on his journey to the semi-finals.

Aaron becomes the first Scottish boxer since Sam Hickey in 2018 to medal at the European Under-19 (Youth) Championships, and very possibly the first boxer from Kilmarnock to ever medal at the youth European Championships.

Aaron will return home from the European Under-19 Championships with a Bronze medal.

Losing out on points to the cagey and unorthodox Kristian Jubani from Ireland in their 50kg Flyweight Semi-Final in Loznica, Serbia.

It has been a great tournament from Aaron, after winning three bouts against opposition from Poland, England and Ukraine.

SCOTLAND’S Aaron Sarwar will aim to reach the Finals of the European Under-19 Championships later today.

The Northwest boxer will face Ireland’s Kristian Jubani at approximately 4:30pm this afternoon in the 50kg Flyweight Semi-Finals.

The Scot had had a fantastic tournament in the Serbian city of Loznica so far, winning three contests against opposition from Poland, England and Ukraine.

That has already ensured he will become the first Scot since Sam Hickey in 2018 to medal at the event, but he will have eyes on becoming our first Gold medallist at the competition since Featherweight Scott Harrison triumphed in Siofok, Hungary in 1995.

However, he faces a tough task against reigning European U17 champion Jubani from Ireland, who also triumphed at the Four Nations Championships in Motherwell in June.

SCOTLAND’S Aaron Sarwar is guaranteed to bring home a medal from the European Under-19 Championships after booking his place in the Semi-Finals in stunning fashion.

The Northwest boxer stopped Ukraine’s Denys Demenko in the opening round of their Flyweight Quarter-Final after forcing two standing counts in the first 90 seconds of the contest.

Sarwar will now compete for a place in the 50kg Final on Thursday against Ireland’s Kristian Jubani at the competition in Loznica, Serbia.
